I will like content about how to pay actors, esp. as a new coming up Director/Playwright. Like what's the average rate? Just all things dealing with paying cast & crew.

Hello Brandi! Thanks for watching and commenting! For community / non-professional / non-equity theatre, you can set your own pay scale. I've seen pay per performance - anywhere from $50-$300 per performance per actor (and in this case actors are not paid for rehearsal time). I've also seen paying a flat rate per rehearsal - for example, $25/4 hour rehearsal or $50 for an 8-hour rehearsal (and in this case actors are not paid for performance). I've also seen a flat rate for the entire production $250 - $1000 for the entire process. Or profit share with actors - for example, actors get 6%- 12% of the profits (not the revenue). If you're dealing with non-equity actors, it's up to you and your budget! Hope that helps! When dealing with Equity actors the minimum fees are set, check them out here for your future reference (I'm in Canada, so these are the Canadian rates) www.caea.com/Portals/0/Documents/News/2020/CTA-Ratification/2021-2024-CTA-ProposedFeeBooklet.pdf
