How to Put on and Remove Sterile Surgical Gloves | Gloving | Donning & Doffing

Sterile surgical gloves come in sealed packages. They are put on hands (donned) with a special technique to make sure that their outer surface is not touched by your hands and they remain completely sterile. Similarly, there is a special technique to remove them (doffing), so that, your hands do not touch the dirty surface of the gloves while you are removing them.
Sterile surgical gloves should be used before surgical operations, passing CVP line, doing LP puncture (spinal tap), urinary catheterization, etc.
Note that simple examination gloves are not sterile. They do not come in packages and do not require this technique to put on.
