Good morning from Montreal! Very instructive video! I was planning on fixing a couple of 2meters long Lack shelves in my son’s bedroom to put his Lego collection. Do you think the long ones will do the job properly? Thank you in advance for your advice.

Thanks for the kind question Eric - on the surface that sounds like a great idea But! I have a love hate relationship with the lack shelves... they'll be fine for putting lego on but probably not strong enough for playing on They're basically hollow mdf and ours have warped a little with moisture in the room If its for displaying the lego they'll be great. Redid my daughters room and bought and put a trundle bed, dresser and side table together from ikea. I hired a guy from an ikea site to come put it together. Somehow it got canceled and I had to put it together on my own.. 10 hrs I’ll never get back!! Yikes!!

I was reading the reviews on IKEA and the arms on the frame seem to bend over time., im thinking of using a a small bit of wood painted while fix it to the shelf topside then into the wall just to give a a better hold. @@DADDELIVERS

It looks like you screwed them into the drywall only and not studs. If you screw then into the wooden studs or concrete/brick, the shelf has a max weight of 33lbs instead of 11 lbs. Could this be why it’s not holding up as well? I’m putting mine up now and using top and bottom holes on each side that align with the stud - not necessarily where the installation guide shows. Guess we’ll see what happens…

What size screws do you need?

Hi Teresa - thanks for the kind question It took a couple of goes with different screws, but the ones I'm using now are 7mm diameter head screws which are 35mm long Confusingly on the box it's called PH2 Ø3.5 x L35mm The PH2 is for a cross head or Phillips screwdriver The Ø3.5 is diameter but the diameter of the screw head is 7mm And the length is 35mm But you might be better off with a 50mm length or longer I'm winging it - not an expert! Good luck with your shelf!

Hi Jennifer, so sorry to hear this - the same thing happened to me. Here are some things that might help, I'm sure you've done these but just in case: - make sure the wall anchors are flush with the wall or inside the wall below the level of the wall - try putting in more screws to make sure the metal frame is fully pinned to the wall. - try using screws with wider heads, so they even out pinning the frame. If the shelf gets damp, it can distort so the frame is okay but the shelf itself isn't true. We've just thrown one away because it got so warped. Hope something here helps and thanks again
