IKEA Sonos Lamps UPDATE: Been going through the comments and I feel so dumb but... "The IKEA lamps do work as rears with a Sonos soundbar in the bedroom. [...] You’ll have to split the stereo pair first which might be why you can’t see the option." Shoutout to @GarettTV and others for letting me know. For the longest time In my brain it made no sense that Sonos wouldn't implement this feature. Doing a Bedroom makeover soon so I'll definitely test it and show it there.

For the Pinterest trick always check to see if there is an artist that created those and sells prints (they are usually cheap). Usually those graphics are from small time artists and supporting them is important so they keep making those awesome designs!
@andresvidoza7 ай бұрын
Yes! I saw a few comments here that were kind of pissed at me and I totally get it if I'm in the wrong here! For the longest time I thought that Unsplash/Pinterest (which we've used to share our prints when we "closed" our own canvas store) we're free of use as long as they were not for commercial use... I kinda feel sh**ty if Im in the wrong here lol but id love to work with some of these artists. We do it for Music sometimes where we pay for lincensing through SoundCloud so id be cool to do it for prints. Specially because we are looking to reaaaally build a lot of spaces the next few years.
@unadventurer_7 ай бұрын
You're definitely in the wrong with Pinterest. Unsplash is totally fair game, but Pinterest is an aggregator and 100% other people's work. C'mon, you should know better. 😬
@andresvidoza7 ай бұрын
My bad :/ Pinterest should definitely fix their stuff tho because there are so many users with the same prints promoting them. So who is who at that point?:/ Like I said, I thought their guidelines were the same as unsplasn @@unadventurer_
@nuhuhbackoff7 ай бұрын
in my experience its much much cheaper to buy prints directly from the artists. (almost always less than the $50 to print on demand) also! ikea sells frames that fit postcards perfectly, so i buy a lot of postcards from artists i like and use them to build gallery walls (definitely use prints of various sizes tho) or line them up on those narrow shelves ikea also sells.
@andresvidoza7 ай бұрын
you got a website or a really nice source me to use? Specially because we are looking to work on a lot of makeovers throughout the year and next year as well. Id love to get a few artists on board!

How is it cheaper to buy from the artist when he's stealing their work for free lol?
@kevinwalter8177Ай бұрын
Etsy -> Filter for digital delivery is Perfect for that. Sometimes it takes a Bit to find an artist which suits you, but there Are many high quality works on there. Often they go for $5 for a high Resolution PDF.

Kind of confused why there’s an ad for an LG projector in a Dyson-sponsored video. Just seems kind of odd and out of place. Like first we’re talking about IKEA stuff, and then all of a sudden we’re talking about an LG projector out of nowhere and I was wondering if Dyson approved that. Also, there was no disclaimer or mention that it was also an LG ad.

The IKEA / Sonos lamps do pair with soundbars! I have a Beam (Gen 1) and have it all setup for surround sound. Easiest bed room audio setup EVER
@andresvidoza7 ай бұрын
dude I've been trying to make this work for the LONGEST time.. but they just dont.. what am I missing...
@GarettTV7 ай бұрын
@@andresvidoza so you have to put the Beam into its own “room” and then you hit the add surrounds option and then you should be able to add the IKEA ones that are already a pair. They won’t let you add them unless they’re already a pair. Then Sonos has the playback option afterwards where you could have it setup to play only ambient from the IKEAs or “full range” which would make everything even sound. We leave it on ambients but also have the “night mode” on which makes it so loud sounds in movies and shows don’t get overwhelming.

I’m a designer too. It’s a bit complicated. Of course if possible just buy a print or donate to the designer, but if they’re just doing it for themselves I don’t see it being such a big deal. Selling these is a big no no of course, but for personal use?

Great video! I love ikea products and used a few of them to decorate my dorm when I was in college. I 10000% agree about the chairs. You think they will break in but something about the way they make their cushions are hard and stiff. Definitely doesn't conform the way it should for a comfortable sit, especially for a desk chair if you need to study/work for hours

I was watching this video w my bf and it made me sooooo upset as an artist that you’re taking images for free off Pinterest from artists and printing it yourself. Not only did you do that, but now you’re spreading that information to other people on the internet. I saw some other comments about this, but if you like the art reach out to the artists. Even if they don’t care if you print it yourself it’s important to get consent.

Apologies but I was under the impression that Pinterest images were for personal use and not commercial (like we dont sell these). We used to have a store a long time ago where we actually designed our own prints in house (Jan designed them) and sold them. So correct me if I'm wrong but for the longest time I thought that Unsplash/Pinterest (which we've used to share our prints when we "closed" the store) we're free of use as long as they were not for commercial. Heck let me know if you have a really nice source for us to support because we are looking to build a lot of makeovers. Im all ears! Apologies if I'm truly in the wrong here.

@@andresvidoza Unsplash has in their guidelines that the pictures you post must be yours: "You must be the original photographer of and own the rights to any photo you share on Unsplash, which includes permission from recognisable people." Source: Google "unsplash submission guidelines". Pinterest gives anyone free reign to post images and a link to the source is only optional. If you are a content creator you must first discover that your image has been posted there and then go through the process of posting a copyright infringement report. So the difference is that while both technically let you post images freely, one will curate it properly and the other will only react if you react. Unsplash is a museum with a curator where you can take most of the images home for free, while Pinterest is someone showing off art someone else made and when you ask if you can take one they just shrug. The main point is, with Pinterest, the artist often has no say. No one asked them. This is why many artists now have to put big watermarks over their works or can only post a tiny version. Because people take it, leave no credit, and then just print it themselves without leaving a dime. It must be hard.
