Thanks. Used this on a 2020 today at work. Scan tool wouldn't set it in service mode so looked for other options. This worked.

Yes I noticed this with the Toyota techstream I didn't have that option so I had to use this step

Thanks man worked out great. The only thing I didn't catch was that it's okay to turn the car off after putting it in to service mode..
@emangee92682 жыл бұрын
It's definitely safe to turn the vehicle off when the vehicle is in "service mode". I have recently replaced rear brake pads on a Mazda 6 with an Electrical brake system and have had no issue with the brake system after the repair was done with the vehicle off in "service mode". Just be sure to take the vehicle out of service mode when done with the repair and all should be well!

Will this procedure also work for putting the Camry in maintenance mode so you can keep the engine running to change coolant in the radiator and inverter, perhaps by pushing start while holding down on the brake at the end of your procedure, or is that procedure completely different? If it's different, by any chance could you tell me the procedure or where I could find the procedure? Thanks
@Nickthecarguy2 жыл бұрын
The procedure is completely different it's quite a bit of steps you got to do to put the engine into maintenance mode I don't know it off the top of my head I will have to ask one of my coworkers

Okay after you do the rear brakes do you manually pump the brakes to set them (traditional style) before you renegade the E-Brake? Or do you let the procedure set them?

@richjunah1234 no, you just a separate source of power, you can either use a power probe to send power with a jumper box or batter and send power to each of the terminals in the connection respectively to positive & negative
