The timing of this is incredible. I just opened my company and wanted to go look at luxury things to goal set. I invited a friend and he didn’t want to come, rather than go home and wait until he wanted to go, I prioritized me and my need to dream and here I am doing what I wanted for me.

That's amazing! It takes courage to prioritize your own dreams, especially when others might not share the same vision. You've shown a powerful commitment to your goals by not waiting for someone else's approval or schedule.

Good for you!! Exactly the right decision!! My mom always wanted me to go places with her (I lived 3 hours away and had small children) and refused to go do things by herself. So sad because it limited her life and the friends she might have developed.

2017 I was blessed with a do over. After seizures I couldn't remember how to use a fork now I dream big. The first time I drove after that, it felt like the first time. I am leaving what isn't working behind as I am living what I want for my new life at 63 years young. Starting over with a history of success.

I am so proud of you my friend. I’m also living proof that it’s never too late to start over and have a new life. It’s stories like yours that make me smile and give me hope. Please never stop sharing your journey it’s a light force for me and others so we also can begin to truly live and believe that it can be done. Love n respect. ❤

I've been told throughout my life that it's all about association , association, and association. Currently the best for my life right now is dissociation. I started with firing my doctor. I researched a top notch doctor. I chosed my current young femaile doctor after researching interviewing several. A couple were not taking on new patients. I have not been this healthy, strong, energetic and happy in a long time. I no longer feel miserable my life no longer revolves around my doctor's regular appointments check-ups and tests. Most based on age and insurance policy not my level of health. During the six months I evaluated my personal, professional and spiritual association. I finally learned how to say no to people, places and things that no longer bring value to my life. The epiphany of whom helped your father brought me to tears. What an amazing revelation. Thank you for doing your show every week.

Putting yourself first is not selfish; it's essential for your well-being. Just like the instructions on an airplane to put your oxygen mask on first before assisting others, taking care of yourself enables you to better care for those around you.

Ed Mylett- you nailed it! So many of us mothers… give give give to our kids/husband and put ourselves on the back burner! I can personally tell you that I was that elephant… that mom. Stuck… and trying to feed everybody and forgetting about me. 20 years ago I started a book… I am putting me first and going to finish it! Dreaming… feeding…and filling my cup first before I fill others! This is vital for your soul and being true to you! Keep on keeping Ed Mylett! You are amazing! So appreciate you and your team! Ed, I want to say what a great episode. Just a few thoughts I grabbed from it. Keeping your guard up and protecting the temp of your interior is crucial. There will be people who come along family and friends that try to create chaos by breaking through borders you have setup. Don’t let them! Pray on it. 👍

The concept of the 'empty or full cup' really puts personal capacity into perspective. For entrepreneurs, it's crucial to remember that nurturing your network can be like filling your cup. A quick tip: segment your contacts based on their interests and interaction levels, then tailor your follow-ups for higher engagement. This personalized approach often leads to more meaningful connections and opportunities.

12:06 you belong in your dreams: "I belong in my dreams" 12:49 Make it bigger, Dream big, think big thoughts, dreaming is free (Dream your life bigger). 13:39 "I" should be priority number #1 in my Life (after God). 16:23 External circumstances do not dictate the ultimate direction / destination of your life. It's You and your faith (God). This is called the "internal thermostat" of your life. Your thoughts, concepts & beliefs about yourself. No matter how hot/cold things get outside (circumstances), your own identity (thermostat) determines your life's thermostat. 1) 24:38 Add people to your circle (with a hotter thermostat than yours: faith, business...) 2) 25:19 Shock your system. Behave differently Raise your water-line. 28:54 Allgin your goals & identity. Identity + Goals = Effort & Results 3) 29:13 Stop what's no longer needed (people, thoughts, behavior, emotion) 4) 30:37 Are you stuck in a story? Evaluate who you are NOW. Bonus: 37:26 Talk to yourself! 38:08 Don't believe every thought. Steer them... 40:13 Your mess does not disqualify you (God loves you)

This is the thing that holds me back the most, especially when cultural expectations are put in , you’re taught that putting yourself first is really selfish and frowned upon & I’m just so depleted and feel stagnant and not really happy with life. Sometimes I don’t know where to start , currently weighing up between moving to a completely new state where I know no one and really just focus on myself . Maybe this is a sign I need to do that ?

In every case, we decide if it is in our self-interest or not… to help or to do. Everyone has different self-interests… Selfless doing is not possible, because we act after our self-interests! I remembered this discussion with my siblings, age 10 years… Most people do not even understand this… Because they are brainwashed.

There has been such a wave of self-care lately. What did we do last 50 years before "self-care" became a "thing"??? It's really important though to give ourselves what we need, especially when we have families. We cannot allow Ourselves to become run down or upset about being everyone's support person. Need to construct support for US!

This is so true, Ed! I remember someone asking me how I was and the first thing that just popped out of my mind was as well. The kids are OK, parents are OK.. I must be OK. I eventually learned that if I wasn’t looking after myself first, then I couldn’t look after them. BTW, when I wake up in the morning, there’s often a song playing in my head and today I realized the song playing in my head is the theme song to your show😂
