I’ve got a quetzal base on crystal isles and love it I’m just bored of the map and want to change to gen 2 but I’m hesitant because of the tek suit is it safe to have one on gen 2?

I had 2 quetz base in Eden on Genesis 2 that were never found. They actually despawned once I too got bored and stopped logging in. Even with tek suit most don't go that high.

The quetzal's stamina will drain so long as you are mounted or standing on the plat. I personally just fast travel to reset the stam quickly but technically all you need to do is stop touching it temporarily, not necessarily leave render distance, Easily done on Genesis 2 with the jetpack. Currently, leaving maewings on the plat will continually drain the stam whether rendered or not and originally this was not the case. 😥

You don't need to worry about stamina if it's high up in the air (near sky border). It will stay in the air, just don't whip it, freeze it with owl, whistle follow by accident, etc or you'll have a fun time repositioning the quetz. Tip, if you need more stam to ride the quetzal but there are dinos on it, you can force feed stim berries and then will be able to ride it if it had 0 stam before in the air. You can use this to quickly make an storage argy follow the quetz so the argy won't try to land on the quetz either. Also recommended to make the argy on highest follow distance.

Any type of foundation will work. If u sink the floor too much, it will give you trouble.

My quetzal burns through Stam on pvp official and I’m afraid if I build on him, he will just force land when on offline and be found really easy. How do I keep him from using stamina when he’s in the air?

It only loses stamina while you are standing on it or if you leave a tame on the Plat. If the quetzal is over encumbered it will not attempt to land when it runs out of stamina. Stamina can be reset by simply getting off the platform.

It allowed me to hatch them but the babies counted as enemies which cannot stand on friendly platforms so they fell through if I wasn't quick to claim them. Stegos were one of the tames I hatched as well.

If u mean the tek replicator, yes. I personally had everything built on one except for the replicator which I added to a 2nd quetzal later. I also play solo and carrying all those mats to make a rep is definitely sketchy. Good luck!

If the quetzal is encumbered it will not try to land when it runs out of stamina. Babies count as enemies though which cannot stand on another tribes platforms so they will fall through unless you claim them quickly.

The big metal plate is a quetzal platform saddle. It can be unlocked at level 97 or u may happen to find one in a loot crate.

Excellent stuff. I play almost entirely Single Player (I don't have the time for anything else) but was thinking about doing something a bit different than having multiple bases with stuff, but just having forts in key locations and a quetz base I can land whereever I need it without having to build multiple resource-heavy things like chem tables and forges. Which begs the question... Can you put an industrial forge on a quetz?

Thank you for the very swift reply! Damn. That's a shame... but I was expecting it to be the case. Guess I'll have to stick to having my forge as central as I can get it, then. My main map is the Island (the original and best...if you're a single player on xbox, as it has the best optimisation and is reasonably well-balanced), so I normally put a forge on or near the volcano so i can at least reduce the faff of metal runs with argies. @@peterclarke7240 a trick I personally use is keeping a magmasaur on an empty weight quetzal plat for mobile smelting. They're quite large so u can't really place other things on the Plat tho.

if your quetz get spotted its over, no need for hp. your quetzal will lose stam when you stand on the platform so pump stam and some food if you have multiple quetzalbases in case you forget to feed them on a map you dont play often. weight doesnt matter

@AzelProd nah, Stam is a waste. Even though if it gets spotted, it's over, doesn't mean you want to make it easy for them to kill. You should only pump HP , there's no reason for you to be on your Quetzal long enough to lose all the Stam. Not to mention, even if you are and it's overweight, it can't land anyway

That depends on how recently the quetz is rendered. First time I'd generally fall through but afterward I'd be right on the foundation.

No, sadly pipes cannot be placed on platform saddles. You can manually water crop plots by placing waterskins/canteens in the plot and using the consume button

Enemy tames cannot land on platforms so the unclaimed babies slip right through. I personally put a maewing on the Quetzal plat, spam claim on the babies, then load em into the maewing pouches for safe keeping.

God I wish this kind of shit was the actual meta tho. Instead it’s everyone using esp and spinning aimbot that will nuke this shit instantaneously… Ratholes, caves, so many mechanics ruined by the cheating meta. Cheating meta is direct result of massive effort lost when wiped. The grind wall. Solution is some kind of seasonal/wiping event and tiered one directional transfer of Dinos and items. You can only ascend not descend -for example once you progress to abb you can’t take reapers back to the island or center etc. Not sure how to do it. But yeah this game is just money laundering through real money Dino trading now. There’s a vested interest in the game not being as fun and competitive as it could be :/ I just wanna have wacky pvp builds like this without it being a waste of time that could be spent on gacha towers or discord channels tagging cheater accounts…
