hi marty, i made some shirt images that now look too bright and new on the stone washed comfort color t-shirts that are so popular, can you show a quick way to distress a full image, they were vectors but i've rasterized them, large botanical images

There are a few ways to do this. You can decrease its color saturation and/or vibrancy as well as add a distressed texture over it.

Hi Marty, how would you change the contents of the smart object? I tried but it did not work right. Thank You for all your lessons, you are a National Treasure!

Double-click the Smart Object to open its source document. If the new document contains another Smart Object in its Layers panel, double it to open ITS source. Keep doing this until the last document you open has no more Smart Objects. Place your new image on top of the original source image in the Layers panel. Hide the original image. Use the Transform Tool to adjust the size of the new image. If the replacement image is larger, go to Image and Canvas Size. Increase the width &/or height. Close the tab of the updated source(s). Your updated document should have replaced all the effects with the new image.
