From what I know, the blue pad is for light finishing polish. Black is no cut and used to apply glazes, that do not contain polishing abrasives and waxes/sealants. I'm sure in most cases, you should be using the orange pad with 3D Speed. It will give you the best results on really neglected/swirled paint, not the black. All depends on how bad the paint is of course. One other thing, when you are polishing, use smooth, fluid motion. Don't pause and jut like you are a robot. Haha. Just some positive feed back. Good luck with your business.

Depends on the orange pad. While I love Buff and Shine pads, I hate their orange. They're way to stiff to do anything on the paint without applying way too much pressure. Consistently, I get more defect removal from even the back than the orange. The orange Lake Country CCS or Flat are a lot more effective. Probably my favorite pad for Speed is the white Hex Logic - which are actually manufactured by Buff and Shine.

Veteran detailers are cringing each time that cord was rubbing up against that paint adding all types of scratches to it #1 rule when polishing throw that cord behind your shoulder once you polish enough it becomes second nature in time. Also watch with the start and stops while polishing you want to keep that polisher moving at all times while on the paint in a uniform and fluid motion and make sure you are overlapping with your passes a tad you were missing sections I wouldn’t cross hatch do it just like you are mowing grass. With that said great work otherwise I can tell you are going to be a great business man and run a great detail business. Remember you are part business owner part detailer so you have to put half into the business and learning while growing but the other half must be put into your detailing skills and knowledge I have been detailing for 9 years and amazed by the amount I am still learning in this space! Good luck!

@TheMinecrafterUH 3 жыл бұрын
@@paulgriffin6577 If you’re just starting to offer the service, I’d recommend you do a few things when figuring out the price. 1) Figure out the cost per car. Let’s assume you’re going to use 3D Speed… you probably won’t use but a few ounces. I’ve had a 16 oz bottle last me about 6 cars (mixed). For good constant correction you’ll need about 4-6 pads. Calculate the cost of every single item: - 3D Speed $20 - CG Orange/Yellow Cutting Pad $14 x 6 pads = $84 - Polisher Usage Cost +25% of polisher cost - Labor +50% of total cost - Mobile Service +15% of total (compensation for working in uncontrollable environment i.e. the sun) This is just a guide to help you figure out where you should be at. In other words, the labor you charge has to match or be greater than the cost. This is also helpful when breaking it down to customers as to why you’re charging what you’re charging. 2) There are ways to take short cuts and lower your cost per car and give you a higher profit margin. This is where it’s always best to have a range, not a fixed price. Some customers think polishing just means quickly passing over the paint with a machine and a pad. Others know that it removes oxidation and defects. Your job is to ask the right questions to determine which is which. In my experience, it never helps to just ask “Do you know what polishing is?”. Instead you should show them a picture of a before & after that shows a huge noticeable difference. Once you have that down you hit them with the price 3) If you break down each cost, the time, and labor, it’ll make it seem more reasonable than just saying “It’ll be $300 to perform the 1 Step Polish” (for example). People generally want the best for cheap. If you hit them with a “high” price and you don’t give an explanation as to why, they automatically assume it’s all profit. This will either make them think you’re ripping them off or they’ll start to negotiate. If you explain a cost breakdown, it mentally prepares them to accept the price more reasonably. Although there are still people who will want to negotiate, you’ll reduce the chances of that happening. 4) If applicable to your situation, offer polishing from your location before mentioning mobile. Generally people want to pay for something they’ll get. Which is why most people will see the “free shipping on orders over $49” and will buy more items just to get $7.99 of shipping for free. It’s really interesting how the human mind works. People would rather pay $50 with free shipping instead of $20 for an item + $7.99 shipping fee. Well, once the client agrees to the service and price, ask them if they’d like a mobile service. If so, tell them it’s an additional 15% for a mobile service. Tell them you will waive that fee if they bring the vehicle to you. In my experience this works really good, especially during summer. It saves me money, time, heat strokes, and I can work and achieve better results Just some things to think about

Dude you know why you splash, because you add to much product, I have been detailing for over 15 years and I have never splashed, even when I start my polisher at a high speed. If you know how to do paint correction, you always add a small portions and spread it on the area, that you are going to fix. Many guys with their own detailing channels, add way to much and you are supposed to do small portions as well to get even better results and reapply with every area, that you do, I’ll make a more do a detailed video of how to polish a car fully. Also when you advertise paint correction, be careful how you advertise it. My clients know about paint correction because I taught them and those all in one products, ***can be temporary*** since it probably has wax. If you do a true paint correction, the scratches will be gone if you did it right. I did a ceramic on my 370z and did the correction paint correction and the shine is pretty sick even after a month of not washing it and that stuff is a true paint correction.
