Michigan state university did a study on leaf mulching that showed that it's not only safe for lawns but beneficial. Up to 6" of leaves can be mulched at a time. Something to think about if it's the right kind of lawn and you want to save a lot of time, bags and gas money driving it all to the dump.

The very first lawn I quoted was just like the mentioned at the beginning of the video. I told the customer I'd do it for $200 and boy did I screw up. The leaves had compressed, the bottom layer was soaking wet, there were limbs and debris and literal trash under the leaves. I ended up putting 20 hours into that job. But at least the customer stiffed me when it came time for me to get paid. I definitely learned my lesson there.

How did he stiff you
@aboynamedzoo67235 ай бұрын
@@darthvaderoftheredpill5196 they kept trying to add stuff to the order and when I said I wasn't doing it they claimed that we had already agreed on it. They said they weren't paying me full price so I ended up getting $100 for 20 hours of work. My other mistake was not having a written and signed work order so the customer couldn't say I didn't finish what we agreed on.

Don’t know if I have bid a clean up at 3 times less than what it’s taken. Maybe 1.5 times. But makes me hustle more. Every clean up you learn from. Hopefully most of your clean ups are recurring, so you can adjust price next clean up.

Is it recommended to get one of those big machines used on the back of the truck? If not, is it still reasonable to begin a leaf removal business?
@jimdomoradzki33092 ай бұрын
When you show up to do the job you notice the neighbors lawn has no leaves and the job you bid has more leaves than before.

I charge by the hour. If there's a ton of leaves it'll take longer, but it all balances out.

Even if he got less jobs at higher price, and still made the same after the season as he did getting more at lower price, it would be less work, more free time.

Ngl that wouldnt work in my area people want to know a price so then can compare to other prices or know what there gonna spend. Also its not that many variables walk through the leafs see how wet and heavy the pile is lol

How do you know it won't work? Have you tried it. I've been doing it that way for the last 15 years the only thing I give a bid price on is mowing and fertilizing. It's all on how you sell yourself to the customer.

How do I get rid of the leaves if I’m just started out and don’t have the leave machine to suck em up?
@Angel_SummonsАй бұрын
I bag mow over the leaves and charge $10/ 42 gallon contactor bag (trash bag) full of leaves needing hauled away. Light jobs produce 4-6 bags, medium 7-11, for average sized homes like in the video or smaller. 12-20 bags for properties 2-3 times the size of the home shown. Obviously cap your bagging fee and give discounts as needed
