The amount of skill she has cannot be understated here. Her knife work and awl work show a lot of training and experience. I am always impressed.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating today :-) Hope you enjoy the video, if you have any questions please leave a comment below. Also I made a mistake on the voice over, you need to add 3/8" to your overall strap width for the main collar. E.G. 1" final collar size needs to be 1 3/8" strip for main collar and 5/8" your filler strip Also I am running a Black Friday sale over on my website www.jhleather.co.uk use the code BLACKFRIDAY2018 for 10% off all my handmade items until Tuesday 27th November

Hi Jo, always enjoy your > 😊. The professional Maker community has been SO AWESOME at helping us to see “behind the curtain” in generously sharing your knowledge and experience with us. I can’t wait to “swing into full production”! Yay! If you don’t mind me sharing a bit of Sound Studio “nerdy” observation on the sound of your narrative. I hear what are called “P Pops”, also called: “Plosives”. Not a big distraction, but please check into it. It usually comes from having your mouth a little too close to the mic. Hope that helps.... Thanks again! G 👍🏼

Hi Gordon, good to see you are diving through the back catalogue of videos. This was recorded a while ago with an old microphone and on a different video editing software hence the lower quality of sound.

Love this. Couple of questions. I WANT a leather splitter, just can AFFORD one at present. Any sort of alternative method you could recommend? Secondly, can you stamp, say the dog's name into the raised portion or would that just crush the raised bit and unmake the raised portion?
@JHLeather
@JHLeather 4 жыл бұрын
Hello, unfortunately there isn't really an alternative to a splitting machine I'm afraid. I'd keep and eye out for some second hand ones as you may be able to get a good deal there. With the raised part as I used leather as the filler you should be able emboss into it without an issue. Jo
@dogracha93
@dogracha93 4 жыл бұрын
i guess you could also emboss before assembling?

This one I had custom made but you can get a single head knife from George Barnsley and sons which are very good. I use them on my courses and they are very good.
