Summary (just ignore it, it's for me 😅) - There is no quantifiable evidence offered. - About focus by deleting distractions from the mind: - A stronger body won't feel threatened and distracted by possible dangers or caught up processing tiredness. Thus, exercise. - A messy environment is percibed by the mind as problems to solve and distract you from the task. Thus, tidy up your room and keep it minimalistic. - Read with full comprehension, learning the full meaning of each word or otherwise your mind will be clogged up with words that doesn't understand. - Other advice: - Have experiences in open spaces.

this is exactly what IQ is, being almost equally good at all of these at the same time. You can have a 70 iq person be ridiculously good at something and bad at everything else. Your advice is sound as long as someone is pushing all of these at the same time, which is almost impossible if born with low iq. In other words the higher the iq, the better the person is in abstracting skills and applying it to other domains in life.
@dodoraptor8387Ай бұрын
@@TheSkyFallTronic Sure, some are more naturally gifted than others in certain fields and at first those gifted individuals would have a certain advantage over the disadvantaged ones. However, this doesn't prevent those with a relative disadvantage to hone their skills and other time with perseverance to eventually improve, no matter the skill they attempt to acquire...The brain is plastic...One can initially be bad at a particular activity, but with repetition/ perseverance, he can get from bad to good and perhaps great....The brain is plastic and nurture does play an important part in the development of intelligence...It was found that Black kids who were adopted and brought up by White parents consistently scored higher than Black kids brought up by Black parents. Also, European Jews once scored lower than White Europeans at those aptitude tests, but over the years with the rise of education, the former surpassed the latter. A very big percentage of the Nobel laureates are of Jewish descent. The same thing happened to African Americans. Over the years, they scored higher in aptitude tests. If the development of intelligence relied uniquely on genetics, then you would expect those results to stagnate no matter the generation, and that wasn't the case. Furthermore, some may excel at those aptitude tests, but when it comes to solving problems and coming up with solutions in the real world, they fall short.
@TheSkyFallTronicАй бұрын
@@dodoraptor8387/videos I think you are misinformed for some of these stats. 1. European Jews literally did inbreeding and sexual selection based on intelligence for hundreds of years. There are certain diseases that are common only amongst Ashkenazi Jews and have a direct correlations with those genes. 2. IQ has globally risen in the last 100 years. In other words, an IQ from 1924 with a mean of 100 would have a mean of 115 in 2024. This isn't that surprising since IQ isn't just genetics. The most important factor is genetics, but in order to reach your upper potential you need 3 other things: proper nutrition until the brain finishes its development which is at around 25 years of age, proper education at a very very early age (introduction to math, logic, art and linguistics, in other words - thinking abstractly) and finally physical fitness. So, not only black kids have improved their IQ over the generations, basically everyone has with the introduction of better nutrition and education. Also, white families tend to be more educated and better off which will give you the nutrition. IQ has zero to none correlation with personality which means nurture isn't really the issue (as in how people were treated as kids from a psychological perspective). 3. IQ tests are just that - a test. It means nothing when it comes to what you have to achieve in life. You can be successful at almost anything with an average IQ or even slightly below. It simply tests your ability to abstract from one to many domains without necessarily having any prior knowledge. Example of high iq: a person is good at math, he starts studying physics and picks it up almost immediately, tries biology - walk in the park, attempts literature - he can write good essays with very little preparation. Example of low iq: a person is good at math, he tries physics and it's super difficult but still, they are related so he manages. Tries biology and it's almost impossible and so on. This is not a good example because math itself is a sort of an iq test with abstraction at its core, so nobody good at math is really low iq but I am illustrating a point. 4. I am not talking about "gifted" at a thing, it doesn't matter. It's all about being basically equally good at everything at the same time, obviously you can be better at 1 thing than everything else but where is your base line for all things at the same time. Clearly you can be low iq and the 1 thing you are just ridiculously good at to be your profession, so it doesn't matter that much. There are autistic kids that have perfect pitch and can play the piano at 3 but can't multiply two numbers to save their lives. Best advice for IQ is - be fit, challenge your brain while it's developing - the younger the better, eat proper food. The video gives good advice on how to temporarily boost your cognitive abilities. Sorry for the rant, friend!
@dodoraptor8387Ай бұрын
@@TheSkyFallTronic Nah, it's ok, as long as I'm learning something new...So European Jews practiced inbreeding? As a group, Ashkenazi Jews still score higher than White Europeans...Does that mean that across the whole group there was inbreeding (possibly with Rabbis who are considered to be smarter, wiser and more knowledgeable)? Or other factors like nutrition and education played a crucial part? We do agree that there are factors other than genetics that play a determining role in the development of intelligence. Often, intelligence is something that has to be shaped and earned and not just merely inherited. Nurture indeed matters. Indeed, upbringing, proper nutrition, and education are pertinent in the nurturing and development of one's cognitive abilities.

Dont waste time. Crosswords and intellectual games don't actually increase iq instead they only use the current knowledge. Physical development and intellectual development go hand in hand. Take a detox to reduce chemical toxins in your body. Do out-door walking. Tidy your mind by removing your negative thoughts and thinking critically. Read books with complete comprehension of each word. Everytime you come across a word you don't understand, look it up because you may not care about the meaning but your mind does. Watch KZbin on higher speeds to help enhance the brain's speed. By doing these you can increase your iq by 50 points.
@jacksonh20835 ай бұрын
With all due respect, 50 is a little radical. Even for the most promising methods of increasing IQ, as supported by research, a 50 point increase is unheard of. At most, I’d expect a 10-20 point increase. There isn’t research for much outside of this range, though. Hell, there isn’t much research within it, just a lot more than there is outside of it. Imo your best bet is n-back (recommend quad n-back on brainworkshop w/ only pentominoes and tetrominoes-fixed for the images), exercise, a healthy diet, and integrating aspects of relational frame theory into cognitive training. Study logic/math and do hard logic/math problems, like ones math olympiads train with and stuff. Even with all of this, though, I wouldn’t expect more than a 20 point increase

IQ tests, such as that popularized by Mensa, measure only a this slice of cognitive abilities. I would suggest that one of the best ways to appear more intelligent is to become a voracious reader. Poetry will enhance observation and the ability to reflect on abstractions. Then there is great literature-- Dosteovsky, Tolstoi, and ,of course Shakespeare. True story. I muddled through high school and just did enough in college to get through. Then I started reading. Within one year... ONE YEAR...people started referring to me as a genius. It was nonsense, of course, but it was clear that my knowledge of the worlds and the human condition--completely appropriated from great authors --had become accessible to me. I also became interested in the arts--Dance, opera, classical music...etc. Am I a genius. Not likely but it is astounding. People much more accomplished or intelligent that I am have suggested it. READ, READ, READ. If you do nothing else, the rewards will be astonishing.

You know that the higher the iq, the more meaningful deviations become and the less accurate the test becomes? Iq of 95 and 105 are practically the same, Iq of 147 is about 1/1300, iq of 157 is about 1/13000 (10 times more rare). Now 10 times more rare doesn't mean 10 times smarter and the testing becomes super inaccurate at that point. Iq is mostly a useful measurement to figure out at which standard deviation you lie, the number it self means less if it's closer to the mean and it's less accurate the further away it is in either direction.

As for your last point for watching at 2x the speed, is this way of information processing different than your previous point of reading meticulously and making sure no words, sentences, or concepts goes misunderstood or ignored? I guess if you can watch at increased speeds and still know the words but string the concepts together faster due to the faster speed that is fine but how does it compare to scrupulous nature of reading, assuming you are not using an audiobook? I did like your concepts in the video about how the brain maps the outside world onto itself and how disorderly, understimulating, or distracting stimuli externally, even if it is a subconscious recognition of weakness in physical health, can distract by having your brain function in a less dynamic or distracted place.
@neilcarpenter19726 ай бұрын

Baseline: Modern IQ is defined as an average of 100, a standard deviation of 15, and IQ test percentile scores are mapped to that scale. Without studies and findings to back these things up, this is essentially just a gish gallop of anecdotes... Given how outlandish an increase of 50 IQ points is (Smallest gap is bypassing 10,934,173 ranks by starting from an IQ of 144 or an IQ of 6, Largest gap is bypassing 7.3 billion ranks by starting from an IQ of 75, and starting from 145 or higher, or 5 or lower, actually just makes it a mathematical impossibility. An IQ of 196 is by definition the most intelligent person among 12.8 billion people... No one has that kind of sample size, in large part because of it's scale, as well as the limitation of the actual human population.) I'm not seeing a lot of reason to accept what you're saying.

But you also are where you are now, which is determined by your self care habits, and your practice. So yes, I do think a lot of people can improve their intelligence to some degree if they make effort to improve their self care and cognitive fitness. But not everyone can be Usain Bolt, or Albert Einstein... Usain Bolt can't outrun even a house cat, and Einstein couldn't unify General and Special Relativity... For argument's sake though, let's just concede those talking points... That still leaves the ignorant title that broadcasts to the whoever the YT algorithm determines to be the appropriate audience, that it's possible and within reach to jump 3.33 standard deviations. Beginning with contrast showers-alternating 2-3 minutes of hot water with 1 minute of cold-allows your body to gradually adapt, improving circulation and boosting immunity over time. While those with existing health conditions or a frail constitution should be cautious, most people can safely contrast and gain increased vitality and overall well-being.

There's no significant evidence to backup this information. Almost all things recommended here can improve performance on tests and, as a matter of fact, they're amazing life advice, but that is not the same as increasing IQ and all this won't do it. Besides, I think people must rethink if increasing IQ is actually a desirable goal. I have a measured IQ between 139 and 146 on average, having scored even as high as 154 in one test. I learnt to read by myself when I was 2 and I was first diagnosed as gifted since I was 4. And when people tell me things such as “I wish I was as smart as you”, I often say “believe me, you don't know what you're wishing for”. As far as I can see, I find more challenges than advantages by being so called “gifted”, especially in adulthood. It's a neurodivergence, after all. Trust me, giftedness is nothing bad, but it's nothing to envy either.
@danielenease3 ай бұрын
You say it's "nothing bad" yet you clearly have some negative thoughts and or emotions due to your giftedness. What exactly do you mean it's "nothing bad"
@danielsac63163 ай бұрын
@@danielenease I mean it is nothing inherently bad nor good, it just is. But yes, what I'm doing in talking about it that way is to show another side of things. Of course there are also things that I appreciate in being gifted and I wouldn't change. I could have talked of it, but nowadays being gifted is romanticised and regarded as not needing help, and nothing far from the truth. For instance, I never learnt to study at school because everything was relatively easy and I never needed it, but then responsibilities and habits one never learnt eventually catch up and when one gets to the university nothing is there to help you start. One has built up its identity in being smart, but then you feel an impostor when things don't come up to the previous standards. This is another side that is important to show in order for the society to take action upon about gifted and twice exceptional people, and not only when we are kids.

Having watched the entire I'm still skeptical, but I must know, will this have any effect on someone who already has a high IQ? Do you think you achieved 153 from 100 because that's all you've managed in the time so far, or because there is some sort of upper limit that prevents training above an additional 50 or so points? oh I found the last tip funny. "raise your IQ" is a loaded phrase. From what I understand most IQ studies show that you can only effectively raise your IQ by a couple of points. Although, you can increase your potential for your brain and body to maximize your IQ. But unfortunately it's very well understood that you can't raise your IQ outside of what your brain is physically capable of. But it's good advice nonetheless and most people will benefit from the things he is saying.
@Greedoid3 ай бұрын
Wrong. It depends on what "you" is. If "you" is someone who has already high IQ without prior training or whatever, then it is possible to increase IQ absolutely. Well If "you" naturally possesses low IQ or average IQ, it might not be possible to raise IQ more than a few points.

Let me tell you bout IQ. The first IQ test the one still most widely used is the American Standard one. It is like all IQ tests multiple choice. It is ranked on a bell curve, it has the median score is 100 the lowest possible score is 50 and the highest score is 150. So is it possible to get a 153 IQ. Well the Europeans made a standardized test, though on that one the highest possible score is 160. It is not as good a test, for one thing it appears they thought they could trick everyone into thinking Europeans are smarter because they have an automatic 10 points higher on the IQ test. Or it is they were not as smart, not understanding that 50 points on either side equals 100%. The next test that has some legitimacy is the Mensa test, which has a highest possible score of 183. So if you hear someone has a 100 score or something, they are most likely lying, or have taken one of the many tests that are out there most really are not legit, though many of those have a college endorsement or something. Usually the people who tell us these things are liars, but note this guy does have what sounds like an English accent, so he may well have a 153 score. Based on the European score. The fact is to test someone and say how smart they are, one has to be as smart or smarter than the people they are testing. The people who came up with a 160 high score were not very smart on their scoring model, that was 70 years ago or something like that, so perhaps it has improved.

By studying philosophies such as Stoicism, you can increase your ethical intelligence and build a better understanding in the areas of ethics and philosophy. I spoke to a man from MENSA in September 2024, he read a statement to the people taking the MENSA IQ test, he said “No matter what the media tell you or “other experts” you can’t increase your IQ”. I for one keep looking for ways to increase my IQ, there’s a lot of repeated things such as certain exercises, eating a keto diet, Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factors, quality sleep, reading, doing mnemonics, hydration, not consuming sugar, repetition, socialising, getting outside into the countryside for walks, drinking green tea etc. My IQ is 98 which according to MENSA is “Below Average” noting that there are different Official tests such as the WAIS & others so 98 might be worse or better than others to constitute what an “Average IQ is so ask for clarification if you do a WAIS for instance as that’s done by a proper Psychologist & not some off the net rubbish.
