How can you boost and unlock your multiple intelligences? There’s a common misunderstanding that there is one type of intelligence.
Maybe you took a standardized test when you were in school, and that score was how you defined your IQ. But research shows that not only are there multiple types of intelligence, but it isn’t a fixed number either.
I’m going to dive into this research on today’s show. Specifically, I’m going to go over Howard Gardner’s eight types of intelligences, plus a few extra, and some examples of how they might have developed or shaped your experiences of the world.
I talk a lot about the importance of having a growth mindset and this is why. You can improve your intelligence, but you first have to believe it’s possible. Listen in, as I describe each of the eight types of intelligences and visualize each one to determine which type-or types-you connect with the most.

In Psychology we literally learn that Gardeners theory of multiple intelligence is flawed due to the nature of these aspects being difficult to test.

I have his book. It is called the theory of multiple intelligences. He also did this little mini documentary in the UK in the early 2000s on the topic. Its pretty interesting, they have people from all the domains of "intelligences" compete with each other. One of the "contestants" dropped out of school in grade 6 or 8th or something along those lines and became an artist that makes a comfortable living off her art. She is all self taught. Does anyone know Jim Kwik's academic background? I am new here. Never seen this podcast before. It is an interesting podcast. Thank you.

I find to take my musical intelligence to the highest level possible for me, I must also delve into the other areas of intelligence listed, for example I must read books about the subject (linguistic intelligence), I must understand the mathematics and physics of sound, I must understand, believe and truly feel the spiritual aspects of the music...

About time someone said it was well. There are multiple intelligences and people need to stop being jealous other people's and level up moretheir own. My intelligence is spiritual, musical, (singing), practical, and reading and writing, creative writing is what I am really good at. My daughter has mathematical intelligence and visual spacial intelligence. You should know that some people claim they have an intelligence but seldom ever do it and never study it or try to master it but claim to have superb intelligence in it cause of narcissism. I can sing as well which many people have told me so I do have music intelligence as well.

I would guess that you are probably getting lost in the details of whatever you are studying and overloading your brain by trying to memorize the minutiae. Perhaps mapping out the fundamental concepts of what you are learning will help you. Most tests are testing your ability to apply to core principles. Brilliance in the basics; build a solid foundation by mastering the pillars of what you are studying - the details can be built upon that foundation later. Good luck!

You're born with a general level of IQ (family history) . The level of how guick one can adapt to a changing environment. But yes you can find what you excell at and ultimately imporove it and master it but you wont "increase" your "IQ". (JBP the most famous psychologist)
