Where exactly can I find afterwards which group were participants assigned to? I am struggling a bit with that... Thanks!

I have the same problem. Since the questions for the block I have randomized are the same, I'm finding difficult to distinguish which block was shown to each respondent. Thanks for the video, BTW!

What you need to do is go to the Legacy output format, and select More options, and select Recode seen but unanswered questions as -99

This is very useful, thank you! However, what if for a research study I want to have them respond to the questions over a period of time. Such that each week, they'd have to repeat the same survey. How can I ensure that e.g. if students answered questions for the control group, that in the following weeks, they will answer the same questions in the control group and not be randomly assigned to the experimental group? Thanks!

aviej1 Not quite sure how this could be done. Might need to use an advanced form of branching.

Hi Tony, I am looking for a Qualtrics community of practice. Looked around the net and haven't found anything yet. Have any ideas? Thanks

Participants should have responses for only the block they were assigned to
@f6wz98 жыл бұрын
Yes, but using this format, there's no automatic indication which of the randomized blocks the participants were given. It seems a bit clunky to either, add another question, asking them which photo they saw, or create a hidden question using a logical structure, if they saw photo 1 give response 1, sort of thing.

The question, I believe, is about determining which block was assigned. For example, assume I'm doing an experiment with 2 conditions. The participants get randomly sorted into one of the two blocks, each with its own condition. After reading the prompt/vignette, all users advance to the next block where they answer the manipulation check question and the experimental questions. That's a separate block from the Condition block they viewed though. What is the best way to determine which condition the participant viewed before answering the experimental questions?

When you download using the Legacy format, you have the option to ask for the randomization information. Also, if you don't ask for this information, pay attention to the variables that are created for each block that represents the levels your independent variables. You will have entries for some but not others. You can create a new variable coding for condition using those too.
