I didn't use the T5Xi on this rifle because the scope is way off on it. That's why I'm using the TARS101. There's a link to the video showing this in the description of this video. With the T5Xi it shoots at the bottom of the crosshair.

Hey Dally.. what is your preferred sniper rifle scope? The T5Xi has slightly more zoom than the TARS101, but how much of a difference does that make during actual combat? Perhaps that could be an interesting test video, comparing the most used scopes with eachother. I.E. ease of ranging, etc.. I'd think it would be interesting to know if there is actually a better scope, or if its purely preference.

RangerStorz a comparison between the scopes is a great idea. I don't think the zoom really makes any difference. We're talking about half of one level of magnification - 6x vs 5.5x - the same scope will show different zoom levels on different rifles anyway. There's probably cases where the TARS101 actually looks the same as the T5Xi on certain rifles. I can't say for sure, but I'll test it. It sounds like something interesting to do :)

I usually range on the fly (if I'm not using my standard rifle or I've taken a break for a couple weeks and can't remember where exactly to hold) by going into a hilly or mountainous area, marking spots across the small valleys at 300, 400, 500, and 600 meters out with my binos, and then just walk my shots up to the mark. Once the bullets are splashing close to the marker, I make a mental note of where roughly I need to aim. It's quick and dirty (I've even done it while reconing bases by firing slightly away from the base) , and you'll be pulling off more gut shots than head shots, but a dropped sentry is a dropped sentry.

Index card idea is good, essentially a “dope” chart. Also pretty sure that optic has what’s called a “milling reticle”, similar to a mildot but is easier to read/use. Also the lines on the reticle are called stadia lines. Love your work!

Lol I do the same thing, I draw the mildots on paper and instead go and find targets and write on the mildots successful distance shots. I also write if it’s a flat shot or shooting downwards.

I personally use the POSP scope for my rifles and I feel it is the most consistent and clearest of all of the long range scopes. Of course this is subjected to opinions. The reason why I said it is the most consistent is because any of the bolt action rifles that can utilize a long barrel, will shoot at the same spots every single time. The POSP scope has multiple arrow notches from the middle down. First Arrow - A straight shot up to 200m. Beyond this distance, the bullet will start dropping. Second Arrow - 300m mark Third Arrow - 400m mark Fourth Arrow - 600m mark Fifth Arrow - 800m mark Any ranges inbetween the marks should be easily adjusted. This only applies to the MSR, L115A3, SR-1, HTI (Non-BDC) and the Mk14.

L115 is my most used weapon in GRW, its really a great rifle...Recently I did get the TAC50 rifle, I been testing that one out, so far its good, but I still prefer the L115 because is has less recoil when looking through the scope allowing you to aim quicker for a second shot if needed, at least thats how I see it.

Yeah it has a much faster ROF than the .50 BMG rifles. Near the end of this video I was actually able to make a follow up shot and avoid an alert. Good luck doing that with an HTI or TAC-50 lol

Just starting playing this and got my first sniper unlocked.... totally changed the game for me! Love your videos and I'm not even experimenting properly yet... only negative I have about the game is can I change the left trigger to that over head mini zoom in and have the right stick as my click in to scope button... used to have this on GRAW years ago and worked perfectly!!!!

Just started playing this game after playing farcry 5 to death. I didnt really think the sniper mechanics were that advanced. Obviously suppressed vs unsurpressed is noted in game notes, so this video was a teachable moment. So thankfully I got to see it early...level 27 with just 4 under bosses removed. And just using the 1st sniper rifle you get. So thanks. It's too bad they couldn't have blended some of the vehicle mechanics from farcry 5 into this game because I'd drive more rather than helo everywhere.

I only just got this game (after gaming since 85....another shooter just wasn't compelling, but one day I picked it up on a whim... and wow... I like how you essentially start out with enough gear to just play the game, get access to a help very early (if you want it... and I'd rather fly than use fast travel, just to soak in that fantastic game world they created)... there are some issues naturally... a lot of clipping with scenery, and it's quite easy to hit a spot where you are not hittabke, while able to fire on your target. I'm choosing to play a sniper type character on first run (In 2024 BTW, and there are plenty of people still playing... every mission so far has had players looking for groups. Mybonly problem, as is the case with AI in most games, is commanding fluidly, and restrict to follow me, and maybe start the encounter with an AI shot... but it tends to go to rat shit anyway, so I just leave them to it... your Ghosts seem pretty capable in this regards, covering fire and going where told, though they will cross the line of fire to get where you send them. Anyway I'm only 3 hours in, I'm invested in the story, love kitting out my guy (my game came with a blot of DLC packs, so am going to have to figure out if there is a quick change gear system? I know yoy can store load outs, but do you need to be at a station of some type to change load out? even just to change a t shirt? (also... do clothes have stats at all? I. e does a Ghillie Suit give you a stealth buff, or a kevlar vest give you armour? Anyway, being a jaded shooter player, having payed the best over the years (ARMA being a great favorite, even though it's complexity can make it finicky, and the bugs in that are probs worse than in Wildlands)... I have to say I am rejuvenated with action games.... having a riot chiooering about (can u yiu get a Black Hawk or other military helicopter? I only have a Civvie Little Bird type, that my boys have to sit in theboutsode .. my other question, I can design my character (and was pleased I can make a guy that looks just like me, but I'd like a team member or 2 to be women.... but you can't design ghosts I take it? Another think I like, I'm playing on the difficulty one level down from hardcore (I think it's called) and Inlike how enemies drop from a single shot or small burst (as in reality) and don't have a health pool, where a t shirt clad punk can take half a mag of 7.62... omstead a burst of sub sonic silenced mp5 rounds will put a scumbag on the deck perfectly well. This game is worth your time in 2024...if like me yiu think you've seen it all in a shooter... this one balances the hyper realism of ARMA and the fun of Cod.... and so far I think they balanced it perfectly, and managed to put a compelling story in as well, with great characters, nicely animated, and the world (perhaps the star of the game) is truly alive, with inhabitants going about their daily lives all around. loving it and an easy 8/10 (and it's free on ps4.. but without DLC I think, don't quote me... version I got, and my Ubi account unlocked a TON of DLC... an overwhelming amount at the start... but I'll have plenty of m time to try it all out.. though black t shirt, dark camo combats, baseball cap, kevlar sniper gloves, aviator glasses and a legit pack... mp5 with silencer and holo optic, Rifle from The Division (seems yiu can't upgrade this with any parts? seems wrong?... and a nice silenced pistol, and main weapon, the best Sniper I can unlock, and most important the best sight. (and yiu can set up sniper attack from so far away..... as afar as the Sniper ww2 games, though no Kill Cam, which was always great fun!) ok I'm back off to play it for a while I think 👍😊

Your videos have helped me a lot. I'm now able to solo convoys and I'll probably put a video up how to do that sometime soon. In any case, since watching your vids, I've started taking 300 - 500+ meter sniper shots. Pretty fun! Currently, there is a challenge that states to get 7 consecutive head shots. I got them all with my sniper rifle. Granted, it's harder from distance, so most of my shots were taken within 100m - 200m.

I think it's better to find the right scope for each sniper, I use the SR25 and I found the perfect scope for it to be the G28 (without range finder), the dots are perfectly centered for it.

You should have Tars written as an attachment for this rifle as well, because the crosshairs are different for each scope and will affect your ranging if you DO happen to change scopes. Edit, I reached the end and in the display you also have the Tars written in as an applied attachment so I stand corrected.

I just restarted this game since summer of 2017. Little did I know that SOOO much has changed and that Ubisoft actually supported the fan base. Especially on PC. Anyway im assuming you're getting at least a tiny percentage of microtransaction cuts. You're either an addict of the game or you're a partner with Ubisoft. Or both

Dude you should try Sniper Elite 4. I can't tell you how much better it feels to play a competent stealth game after torturing myself with Wildlands' broken mechanics. I think you'd like it because it allows you to tweak your gameplay however realistic you want it to be, and there are various coop modes.

When they added the AI teams, I started over again. And they've added lots of new content with the updates. So after a 6 month break, I actually played a little today, and it's so different with your AI team, it's almost a different game.

Hi Darkdally, maybe have a look at the MK14 occult, you cant alter anything on it (wish they would change that for all rifles) but it shoots similar to the SR25 jungle, with very little bullet drop but has the advantage of a silencer. & thanks for the videos you do, keep em coming.

Hi! I know this a year old but I love watching your channel because of depth analysis. I haven't check much of your videos but could I mention that "there is a different elevation position (target is lower with sniper position) on the test of Neuvo Mondo" I have notice there is a different elevation from shooter and target elevation. The higher the shooter will make more drop on the bullet and vice versa. Could make make a test for the different of co-relation with bullets drop, distance and elevation. Thanks

@Darkdally -- First off, just wanted to say how huge of a fan I am of the channel - you have been amazing in explaining everything for non-gun savvy persons, who are both teaching themselves in the real world, but also teaching themselves through games such as this... so please keep up the teachings!!!!!! OK.... so I know this may seem like an incredibly dumb question, and it's probably because I've just never bothered to research it, but why is it that in your videos (and in other users too), your stats (specifically accuracy and range) are just insanely high??? Like reaching the point of being maxed out? When I build a rifle the exact same way, same attachments, same Tier, same everything, my stats seem to show up as only about half of what yours show at in these videos... do you have any idea what I'm talking about / have you gotten this question before?

The trigger on your controller might have that bug permanently. I've gone through three controllers because of that trigger bug and it made gaming hard whenever i spawn in and an entire magazine gets wasted at random. I'd recommend getting a new controller.

It's crazy that these ranges are nothing compared to some real life. I think the longest recorded sniper shot is over 3000 meters. Way more than GRW's render distance allows.

My L115A3 is carbon fiber, and I colored everything but the barrel brown. It gives it the appearance of having a carbon fiber receiver and barrel. thought it was a cool idea :)

No offence to your gun knowledge but when you equip your suppressor you could be using sub sonic ammunition which would travel slower.
