The medical tent at Electric Forest is awesome. I had burned myself pretty badly right before I went to the forest and I went in the med tent a few times through out the weekend to make sure that my arm was ok. They washed it for me and put new bandages on it. I kept it covered all weekend and had them help me clean it. They didn’t ask me questions about how sober I was. It didn’t matter because that was not why I was in there. All the people there were just volunteers who wanted to help. My burn was looking very good when I left. It didn’t get infected and healed very well. It was pretty big too. Moral of the story is don’t make pizza when you are way too drunk, or you will burn yourself the day before you leave for Electric Forest.

That's awesome! Not the burn, but the story :)

I’ve been to almost 30 raves and never done drugs once. The way I see it, if people around me are doing drugs it has no effect on me whatsoever so why worry about it. However, there have been instances where people around me collapsed and I didn’t know what to do.

A mutual friend of mine was offered a cigarette by a random last year at EDC on night one. He completely blacked out and couldn't remember anything from the night. He ended up having to leave the festival super early which totally ruined night 1 of the festival for him and he's lucky nothing worse happened. I have no idea what was in that cigarette but moral of the story is don't take ANYTHING from someone you don't know! Great video Emma! 💕

i'm from germany and went to a few festivals all over europe where they had tents where you could test your stuff which i think is so important. as you said it people are going to do whatever they want so the staff there should at least try and make it as safe as possible. i think that's such an important video and topic, so thank you for talking about it and also for being so open minded

Also be really aware if you are bringing anything in and you tend be generous. If anyone asks you for drugs outright do not give them anything. I was approached by an undercover cop at EDCLV’18 and if I wasn’t being vigilant my group could have been in huge trouble.

Gabriela Palacios it was really obvious, he was in khakis and a polo shirt with his hair gelled back and dad sandals, was in his mid 40s. If that didn’t give him away it was the fact that he looked at me pouted like a child and put his hands on his hips dramatically and said “I DONT HAVE ANY DRUGS” 😂😂

Great info vid. Emma. Its really important to know yourself and your limits. The older I get, the more I realize how easy it is to have fun at show sober. And by sober I mean moderately sober. I do tend to have a few drinks. And I dont recomend this if your not perscribed but I do use some of my adderall medication to stay up and at 'em during festivals. I used it to stay awake at EDC last year. I'll be one to admit ive done stuff for shows and festivals. But its very moderate, I dont do it every rave. Thats just not healthy. and when I do, I make sure to be absolutely prepared such as testing and getting the right dosage. But I go for the music indefinitely. Ive fallen in love with this music and its the only reason I go.

first festival i spent a lot of time at the med tent thanks to my friend working there and i also want to say i have full respect for medical personnel but in my day to day life i wont see a doctor unless its extremely necessary and i learned to LOVE the med tent, people were lovely and i was there lots so i saw some blood and such and the way they handled these people is just unlike anything i have infinite respect for those working in med tents at festivals they truly are incredible humans

Great video! It’s really important info for people to know, even if one doesn’t use drugs they can pass along the advice to friends who do. Main points to emphasize/elaborate on for anyone scrolling thru the comments: Never take or buy anything from anyone (never know what they are giving you, and there may be a risk of them being an undercover). Never sell or give anything to anyone (a decent chance they’re an undercover, even if money is not changing hands, you could still be arrested). It’s always good for all rave/festival-goers to stay hydrated and pay attention to overheating, but it’s especially important to do so when using anything. Many medical emergencies (and deaths) are not related to the quality of the drugs, or overuse of any drug, but rather to dehydration or overheating while using drugs. Risk of these are increased with drug use alone, but put that together with being in a huge crowd of people and getting lost in music, it can be a recipe for disaster if you are unaware and unprepared for the risks. And of course take care of yourself and look out for fellow ravers 😄

Some information to consider. Test kits do not test purity. They test for presence of the target substance. The substance could be 90% the target substance and 10% Fentanyl. So unless they are lab tested (there are sites that do so for a small fee) there is not a guarantee with a test kit alone will determine content. So critically important obviously, but not a 100% guaranty of content. An example were the recent serious cases of cocaine use in Miami that also had Fentanyl. Unfortunately becoming more common. So testing for Fentanyl with test strips in addition to the traditional tests now important, if you are not going to have lab analyzed. As well hydration important, but there have been MDMA deaths from water intoxication. So you should keep track and hydrate appropriately. Thanks for the important information.

lala land they sell drug test kits where you can test any substances you own At home. The solution in the kit will turn a certain color depending on what’s in the pill/etc. That’ll tell you if there’s anything dangerous in it!
