I bought this game after being enamored with it for a few months. It hasn't arrived yet, and I did not know about this. This makes the purchase all the more worthwhile. I can't wait for it to arrive!

I love the insert and thanks for the video. I did have a card avalanche when I stood the box on end for transport even though I put the punchboards underneath. I sleeved my cards (Sleeve King SKS 8807 and 8801) last night, hoping that the sleeves might have the cards fit tighter in the slots and prevent another avalanche. In doing so, I found two small issues with the card trays. With sleeves the solo goals stack too high for the spot under the recipe cards, but the distillery goals stack just fine there and the solo goals fit fine where you put the distiller y goals. So just switch those two stacks. With sleeves the base game cards filled all of the main slots, leaving the only open spot for the expansion and KS promo cards the way-too-small slot under the recipe cards. I ended up just putting them in the expansion box. Having to bring along that small box is a drag, but not a huge one. Played through the first round of First Taste yesterday to learn the rules, playing all 5 players. It was quite helpful in learning the game. Will be doing my first full teach tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to it.

update: I used Plastibands to organize the cards by type (yeast, water, etc.) and to prevent the avalanche. Not only did this stop the avalanche and make setup easier, but it tightened the stacks sufficiently enough that all the cards, including the expansion and promo, fit in the tray with room to spare. Have now played/taught the game twice. It went long because of all of the explanations that had to be made about what the various special cards do, but the basics were easy enough to get.

The work that went into developing the box inserts is so impressive. Shame that this isn't the norm. My ONLY wee tweak would have been to have designed the clear covers to the coin/cube containers to be able to somehow snap into each of those two bottom trays to keep them out of the way during play. I stack them that way during a game but they almost always get knocked off.

Hah, I (also) have Oros, GWT 2nd edition, and Cosmic Encounter NIS just like you - the Cosmic Encounter one I'm especially ashamed of since I bought that copy 4 years ago and last played the game in 1985. :D Heck, your bookshelf looks to be from the same manufacturer and color (Ikea, black - however your walls are thinner than mine so that must be a Kallax - mine, dating back to 2008 is a Expedit).

Yes! There is a diagram in the box when you open it! Turn over that STOP! paper and it will show you!

@@EmpressJess Yes, but you won't be able to fit in all of the expansion cards. Oh well, you'll just have to store them in the expansion box. I may try using some plastic bands around my sleeved cards to see if that will tighten up the stacks enough so I can fit the expansion cards, and prevent any card avalanches when I turn the box sideways for transport.
