How to Re-Gear a Dana 44

I'm re-gearing my Dana 44 on my 1974 Ford Bronco. I took the axle to the guys at Tennessee Classic Trucks, since they already had the tools needed to do the job. This Dana 44 is for my Bronco Restoration project, but will work on any Dana 44 for a jeep.

How do you drain and refill the diff I don’t see a drain plug or fill plug on my diff

You’ll have to remove the cover to drain it.

To pry the cover off? I think I did that but i tried to make sure not to dig into the housing. But that’s a good point, you really shouldnt

Let me stop you right in the beginning with all the special tools. You absolutely do not need all of those tools. Will it make your life easier 🤔 absolutely. If you're going to stop building rears all of the time then sure go out and get all of those fancy tools...lol. but overall good content.
