I totally agree. Before watching this series, I'd think about a move and a half ahead. Now I've learned how to properly analyze the board depending on what stage of the game that we're in. It's been huge.

stockfish also didn't realize e5 would be the move that led to a fork with e4 since it assumed the opponent will not allow that. so yeah if stockfish knew that it is likely that the opponent won't see the fork then maybe it would say e5 is good.

This opening is called The Danish Gambit: the idea is to sacrifice a couple of pawn to open two long diagonals for your bishops and get many attacking chances. That's a very dangerous gambit.

I really appreciate how efficient you are at explaining things and how you cover all of the tactics that we could be a victim to along the way. It's enlightening to hear how you calculate and think this through. It's especially helpful to see you calculating the opponent's response. That's something that I'm working on as a 1000.

16:49 wasnt nxb3 a better move? Considering you still have a discovered attack on the queen, but you will win the exchange after the queen moves did i overlook something?? The queen was disconnected form the vision of b3.

Yes. I believe that your sequence wins a queen and pawn for a rook and knight, which is a favorable trade, and it trades down a lot of material.

@@Gwennbleidd_Chess I'm pretty sure I got put in the poor sports group for sending kissy faces at people when they do that 🤣. Usually a 😘 just before they stall out within the last five seconds. There was about a week long span where absolutely everyone sent rude messages and ran the clock and my rating shot up 200 points before it suddenly stopped happening and my rating fell back down to it's normal rating. My theory is that people were reporting the 😘 faces and that the poor sports group has a lower skill level which inflates their rating in terms of their skill. I'm still gonna send 😘 faces when they stall out, lol. And if people get too nasty I'll just mute the chat and report them.
