Why do you hide your likes on Instagram if you have 200k followers?

That’s a great question! I actually don’t hide likes on all of my posts. Most of the time, I hide likes on educational content. Why? Because my account isn’t niche-specific to the educational content; it’s a personal brand, not a business account. Educational content naturally gets lower engagement (an average of about 1k likes) while other types of content gets anywhere from 1k to 200k. But that’s not the main point. The reason I hide likes is that I’ve tested this approach and noticed an interesting pattern: when likes are hidden, people are more likely to engage with the video. This taps into simple human psychology-removing the visible number takes away the opportunity for viewers to judge the video based on social proof. Instead, they evaluate it for the content itself. In other words, hiding likes encourages viewers to focus on the video’s value. I hope that answers your question!
