Students often ask Ms Fatima Batool how to read a book. Well, one must set Reading Goals to ensure that one is reading books. Also remember that one has to read books, not just watch videos on how to read a book.
Does reading books make you sleepy? Do you know what active reading is? You must learn active reading skills to improve your reading habits. Also, it is important to keep yourself motivated while reading books. This video is in Urdu/Hindi and will be helpful for all students and book readers in developing book reading habits. Ms. Fatima Batool, with her vast experience of teaching, motivates her readers to develop better reading skills. After watching this video, you will be able to stay attentive while reading books.

5 Steps for Active Reading
1.
جو بات اہم لگے اسے مختلف رنگوں سے نمایاں کریں- تاکہ خیالات کی درجہ بندی ہوتی رہے- جیسا کہ کوٹیشں کو نیلے اور اعدادوشمار کو پیلے رنگ سے نمایاں کریں
2.
صفحے کے ہاشیے کو ہیڈنگ کی شکل میں نوٹس بنانے کے لیے استعمال کریں تاکہ مستقبل میں آپ اپنےلکھے ہوئے الفاظ سے مفہوم یاد کر سکیں
3.
کسی لفظ کا معنی نہیں آتاتواسے انڈر لائن کر لیں- کوئی بات اچھی لکھی ہےتو اسے دائرہ لگا دیں
4.
ایک پیراگراف پڑھ لیا کتاب بند کر کے یاد کریں کہ کیا پڑھا ہے. دو صحفے پڑھ لیے تو کتاب کو ایک طرف رکھ کے ربط بنائیں سوچیں کہ بات کہاں سے شروع ہوئی اور کہاں تک پہنچی- خیالات کی ترتیب کیا تھی یعنی کونسی بات پہلے اور کونسی بات بعد میں آئی- الفاظ کا چناو ٔ کیسا تھا؟

اب انہی الفاظ اور خیالات کا استعمال اپنے جملوں میں کریں- جو باتیں پڑھتے ہیں انہیں دوسروں کے ساتھ ڈسکس کریں- کتاب کا ان پٹ آوٹ پٹ کے بغیر ادھورا ہے-اگر آپ کتاب کے آوٹ پٹ کا طریقہ سیکھنا چاہتے ہیں تو کمنٹ کریں
پانچ چیزوں کی عادت ڈالیں یعنی کتاب بینی کے وقت مختلف رنگوں کا استعمال، حاشیے پر نوٹس لکھنا مشکل باتوں کوانڈر لائن اور اچھی باتوں کو دائرہ لگانا، ہر پیراگراف پڑھ کر اس کو دہرانا اور مختلف پیراگراف میں ربط بنانا- اس سے نا صرف آپ ایکٹو ریڈنگ کریں گے بلکہ آپ کوکتاب ساری زندگی یاد بھی رہے گی

Assalamualaikum mam ! Thanks alot for making such videos. Actually , I have a confusion. Most of the times when we couldn't understand the meaning of a word in a sentence while reading a book then either we have to search it immediately or after completing the whole paragraph?

ws, the word that you read has a contextual meaning. it's better to focus on what you are reading than getting distracted by the meaning that you don't know. However, you may underline or seperatly note that word and find its meaning later.

Ma'am I believe that If you are not habitual reading? Fist of all you have buy those book you like more. Like novel ( Al-chemist, Paradise lost). In addition, you start reading from you native language, just for creating habit of reading books. Furthermore, Start reading English book, book don't give up native reading books because, when you newly start book reading in second language you may confront the vocab problem. The last but not least, In this stage you are now habitual reader then you have commmence the objective books, however, don't forget to read novels, they will help you to boost your vocab and with ideas which also help you to write more and communicate effectively. In the end, I would like you all that remember always respect your parents and teachers. Thank you!
