That’s correct. If the pattern is mirrored, as in the same in both directions, you can begin reading it either way but graphgans or images would need to be read from left to right 😊

My chart is 41 stitches across, so do I multiple it by 3, and add one more stitch

Do you mean 41 blocks across? If so, you also need to add the 1st stitch of the row so you would do 41 x 3 for the chain, plus 3 ch for the 1st stitch which doesn't show on the chart, plus 1 for the foundation chain - hope that helps :)

Let me make sure I'm understanding this correctly. If i heard right, you Said the black boxes are the open spaces and the white boxes are the closed? I ask because the pattern i have it shows the opposite. And I'm confused with their because one moment they say the closed block is 3 dc's and then they say 2

Go by what the key in the pattern you are following says - what’s in that pattern you are following is what will give you that finished pattern 😊

I have an image of a graph, no key, no pattern. It is 90 blocks. When I x3 it the pattern doesn't match the graph, I have to many spaces across. I count the spaces don't I? or do I just work across until the pattern changes? Thank you

The solid block would be 3dc and the open block is 1dc and ch-2. Work across the pattern and change as the pattern switches between the open and closed blocks.
