I know that this does make logic but the truth is that why teachers take so long to explain to us 'cause they feel that yet we didn't understand so they try to give us more examples and also they explain it again and again. It's not applicable to all however...

I just turned 59 and was assisting my dad in DIY projects from about 8 years old. He was a great teacher. This means I have been involved in DIY for more than 50 years. I bought my own vernier, probably about 35 years ago. But until this moment I never knew this. I always wanted a digital caliper because I need better than 1mm measurements. I never knew my caliper could do this. Thank you so so much!

@@rafianoshin3174 From the vernier scale, we have to pick the number that lines up best with a main scale number. Here, the point right after 7 lines up best. Since each point is 0.02 mm, the reading on the vernier scale will be 0.72 mm. We already got 5 mm from the main scale so the reading will be 5.72 mm.

It's my first day as an internee in a factory and I asked a guy to show me how to read the vernier and he laughed saying how couldn't a mechanical engineer read a vernier, it's break time now and this saved my day. Thanks a lot.
