Thanks for teaching us this reading, it was difficult at the beginning, but later I read it this way R' MSI and SW are in the same direction from left to right if were horizontal according to R' direction so I can read it as one part and it is coherent hence I do not use MER un this direction, then AMUN is looking to opposite direction so this indicate me a new reading direction thus I can add MER to the new direction to get AMUN MER from right to left if they were horizontal, it is my opinion.

how to know if we should read from left to right/top to bottom etc?
@ReadAncientLanguages4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mateusz, in hieroglyphics the general rule is that if the text is horizontal, it should be read starting from the side towards which the human figures or god are looking. If the text is vertical, it is usually from top to bottom. However, when it comes to names unfortunately these rules are not always followed!

@@mateuszcielas3362 the direction of the writing in hieroglyphics was dictated mainly by ornamental reasons. On the other hand, hieratic was always written from right to left.

@@ReadAncientLanguages Is the pronunciation of Egyptian closer to the sibilant Arabic sounds or full-mouthed pronuciation like that of Sanskrit (since it, too, is an ancient language and predates Egyptian by quite a bit)?
