How do you know which side is the left and right side? Like if you’re holding it backwards and the colors are switched

To determine the reading direction of a resistor's color code, identify the side with more color rings as the "left" side. The side with fewer rings is the "right" side. The last ring, typically gold or silver, always indicates the tolerance.
