Absolute legend! I've been struggling with this for a year since moving house as my meter doesn't have a reference sticker as to what reading the 1 and 4 refer to... My provider were useless in helping to identify which was which and as I work full time I rarely have time to do a staggered test throughout the day to see which might be which. Now I need to correct my readings as I've had them the wrong way round. God knows what that's going to do to my bill!!

I think the dual rate system is usually for homes with storage heaters which run over night, when I purchased my house we had a dual rate meter but got the energy supplier to change it.

Unfortunately, I have just been checking bills for someone going back to 2019 and they have been giving day readings as night and vice versa. I am guessing it was because R1 = N which is normal, and not night. Putting an N there is just begging for someone to make a mistake.

Hello, do you know why my night rate is ticking through the day? I confirmed with my supplier that the night rate kicks in between 12am and 7am however I've noticed that it ticks during the day time outside these hours ?

These run off an internal clock rather than radio signal so the clock might have drifted. Ours starts rate 1 at 10pm.

I've got one of these where the switching times had drifted to day time (rate 1) starting at 10pm. I couldn't work out which were the date and time screens, they both show as 08-01 style displays so it wasn't obvious.

Hey Vince, did you see Mayflash's Magic S adapter for the PS4? It makes using joy cons, switch pro controllers, xbox one controllers, xbox 360 controllers, and ps3 controllers simple and easy on the PS4, and dosent have the ps4 security check issue. Hi, I think there is a fault on my meter. My total reading is less than either of the others never mind them added together. Even if you miss the first digit (as in if the number was to long) it still doesn't add up. Could this mean the meter has a fault? Thanks Beccy

Not to great, I have an older box and this one is quite modern, so I am none the wiser! I have a 1 reading which has a higher number than the 2 number, so I am guessing the lower number is for night and the larger one for daytime.

E-on wont let me add the 0 at the start of the reading. Every time i try to send them the meter reading, they get back and tell me it's too high. They have been trying to force customers to get the smart meter, (relentless selling practices) which many have refused. So now they are making it near impossible to give readings from these things, you have to call them up, which as anyone knows, getting a human or an answer even on the phone is also near impossible these days.

Hi, if anyone can help. I am living in a old 5 bedroom house which has been separated into a 2 bed bottom floor & 3 bed top floor flat. I am living in the top floor flat but my electricity meter which is a dual rate economy 7 meter is on the bottom floor flats living room and i have no access to it. Every 3 months i usually knock on the bottom floor neighbours door to get my meter readings, recently i've noticed on our meter the word 'rEd' i have also noticed my electric bill coming roof high even when no one is even at home most of the day, also i noticed the clock time on the meter is 2 hours behind.

I went over to the tronicsfix channel. I got to say he seems a bit detached with everything he's doing he sounds board through the bit detached with everything he's doing. Well, I'm glad it has helped many. Surely the number on the display you start at gives WATT.HOURS - that's what it says! This is not kW.h. It is hard to believe but no-one seems to distinguish between them. A kilo is always a thousand. When you go to Zero (punching button), it shows the last three zeros each separated by a dot. As if different. Yet my supplier takes the whole number as if it is kW.h. So I get over-charged. Some meters do say kW.h but this one says Watt.hour meter.
