Wtf man. I'm speechless considering that some other KZbinrs talking about the stock market etc and saying shit have that many subscribers and your channel doesn't have that many. While you are giving actual and helpful information. Thanks man. I hope you see this comment.

this video is 16 minutes but I spent at least an hour fully comprhending the analysis! Great lecture and thanks for explaining more about when people say that a firm is investing within the company if eps doesnt change and revenue does, made so much more sense when you gave the example of making an investment on a store; on the income statement an investment isn't realized untill something comes out of it

Hi Hamish, why do you think depreciation goes to Other income/expense component ?, depreciation is capital expenditure, but directly for operational purposes, and for example if the factory gets depreciated it should go to COGS, if some offices - then the depreciation expense goes to SGA, that would be the fair representation of operating profit, otherwise, the companies would spend huge amounts of money for assets and show very good operating profit without depreciation, majority of investors look at operating profit, I thought other income is actually the realized gains from non operating profit such as selling shares,assets,fx gains..

Hey Buddy, I just watched this tutorial and its one of the best for me. I have a couple of questions and hopefully you're still active on your youtube. 1. I understand that interest expense is also indicated in the income statement for companies. Does the absence of it mean that they do not have any interest paytments? 2. May i know what's the equation for for calculating the 10 yr growth rate pecentile Sorry if these are super easy questions, I'm not good with accounts but would very much love to learn

Great video and content. I tried to follow along by doing your calculations. I can't seem to match your growth EPS numbers when comparing 2017 to 2016. Also, your sales totals don't match with what's on the actual Apple statement for the years 2014->2017. There is also a discrepancy in the EPS numbers from 2008 -> 2011. Are you using random numbers for illustration purposes?

Thank you for great content.. I am trying to follow this exercise in filling out the stock analysis spreadsheet for apple, in regards to EPS i am a bit confused on how you got the numbers based on the Fins...in 2013 apple has $39.75 and on your spreadsheet you have $5.68. Also when i go to see the EPS on WSJ and QucikFS for apple the EPS are different to whats on the Fins. Are you able to clarify this please.

In regards to bank pay attention to NPA's non performing assets. It's the loans that are given by the bank but not received. See where they give out loans. If they give out to normal people than that's okay. Avoid banks that give to corporations since there is risk of being defaulted by companies. This should get you started on analysing banks.

I don't understand why revenue growth without earnings growth implies that the business is investing in itself. The income statement and cash flow statement would reveal if investments were being made?
@samubamu

Maybe i'm not understanding the misconception because it's obvious to me and I'm just confusing myself trying to understand it.
@samubamu
@samubamu 2 жыл бұрын
No I've worked it out, I know you were all very worried for me! The misconception is people think that investments today will result in future revenues WITHOUT the associated expense needed to realise that revenue. This can give the false impression that big net profits wil be seen in the future without the related expenses being taken into account.

Hi Hamish - One quick question. Where do you go to find 10 year financial data on a company? Yahoo Finance and MSN Market for example only have information for the past 3 or 4 years of a company. Do I need to sift through 10 years worth of annual reports for this?
@imlkr_
@imlkr_ 4 жыл бұрын
Most companies won't publish their 10 year data for commercial reasons... it's usually better to avoid companies which don't have a long term record which is transparent
