This year I finally bought my first books. I always wanted to read books but hamary gharon mai unfortunately academics k ilawa hr kitab ko bachon k liye waste of time samjha jata hai, "pehly school ki kitabein prh lo phir kuch or prhna" I was always a topper student but I always wanted to try new things and learn stuff that they don't teach you in schools. My interests were always very diverse, philosophy, literature, psychology, science, islamic history etc. This year I started readinv and I read different genres including books written by authors like Dostoevsky, Kafka, Osamu dazai, Jane Austen and scientist like stephen hawking etc. My first book was "Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho and that started my journey of book reading. So happy to see KZbinrs like you in Pakistan that are actually giving advice that's useful and encouraging book reading! Subscribed :)

The thing that attracted me towards this video was the thumbnail picture of your journal, I was curious to know more about it( as I'm not good in keeping diaries and journaling. 😅). All of your tips were amazing; number 1, read multiple books at a time so you would not be bored, number 2, avoid note taking at first and focus more on developing a reading habit, number 3, read books of any genre but be selective in term of quality. Thanks fir sharing your insight with us. Best of luck for your KZbin journey. ❤

Brother, I’m not a beginner when it comes to reading. It’s been almost a year since I started reading books. A few days ago, I came across your work after watching Amanullah’s podcast. I’ve checked all the recommendations you gave and added them to my reading list. I would really like to stay in touch with you for suggestions. Is there any community where you interact with your followers? I understand it might be difficult, but if possible, please let me know. Much respect and love from Rahim Yar Khan (Punjab). ❤️❤️

Honestly, if you ask me, as an avid reader, I'd tell you that reading is never a work you have to do. There are many wonderful novels out there that'll pull you into a story with a single paragraph and make you genuinely want to continue reading the book. It doesn't matter if it's fictional, you can start from there if you want and as you read more and more, your attention span will naturally increase during the process. Then you can try non-fictional and you'd find it much easier compared to how it was before you even started reading anything at all. Atleast, that's what i felt. Everyone may not find it that easy. This video is much more beneficial for them. thank you for posting this

Awesome tips! And i would like to add to your point of "reading multiple books", its good to have a few different books you have started that differ in nature and writing style. For example, I have started 1 book on politics, i read that one based on the content pages, hence i pick and choose what chapter i want to read for the day. But i wont read this particular book everyday at all because it is not my lifes purpose to suddenly become well-read in politics. So i have ANOTHER book on Sufi Mysticism, and then ANOTHER book on philosophy and one more book on the Biographies of the Companions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This way my personal syllabus is filled with multiple different topics that interest me and i read whatever i feel like for the day.

Rn I am reading 21 lessons for 21 century, to kill a mockingbird and turtles all the way down, together. I have to alternate between fiction and non fiction to keep my reading going. Btw, cool tips! It always feels refreshing to see Pakistanis put forth such sorta content. A tip which I'd like to give is to go for small reads. Books which one can finish in a single sitting can really motivate you to keep reading. And to alternate between light hearted and heavy reads. It takes me a while to soak in emotionally heavy reads so, I have to pair that with reading something light along the way.

I would really recommend that you start a podcast it is a comparatively easier form of content to produce and it'll allow you to discuss in depth your take on various topics. I'm asking for the users who prefer long-form content 😄. You could do an experimental podcast and gauge its reception. In any case, I commend you for creating content that I myself have wanted to produce for a very long time, but couldn't bring myself to. Keep up the amazing work Shershah, lots of love ❤

MashaAllah, great video! In one of your next videos, could you please cover how to read through books more effectively? I often struggle to understand because of my limited vocabulary and the complex writing styles. It takes a lot of time to look up word meanings or use AI tools for explanations, which interrupts the flow. How can we reach a level where we can read books without constantly searching for every word and fully enjoy the reading experience? Also, since you're a computer science student, could you make a video on how to approach computer science? Or could you list down some resources or books you use for computer science in the comment :)

I believe there are a few different styles of reading we can adopt based on what we want to gain from the book. If it's a book that teaches real life skills, it's a good idea (in my humble opinion) to read based on content pages where you select what you want to focus on for the day (or even week!) and keep going back to that chapter. I also like to make notes on my Google keep (or u can use ur physical diary) and connect the concepts with other things I've learnt in my life. Absolutely love your content! Keep it up ❤❤❤
@rayyaanilone70082 ай бұрын
You like make a section with the name of the book you're reading and then write notes there? In Google keep.
@VS-20022 ай бұрын
@@rayyaanilone7008 yes! For aesthetic I will even add 1 image of the book cover. I write down the notes in a way where I copy paste the quotes I want to keep re-reading in my life, and I also add my own thoughts, connecting what I learn from the book to some other concept I learnt from elsewhere. It's a whole revelation, like an epiphany when you understand something from a new perspective

Sir please tell about use of dictionary during book reading. As a beginner should i use dictionary. It interrupts my reading flow but reading without understanding bores me.
@_titanslayer_2 ай бұрын
I would highly discourage the use of dictionary while reading. Never do that. Especially when you are beginner. The words will start making sense when you read the whole sentence and the paragraph. You can also look up the words later.

As I mentioned in mistake 3. Don’t think much about books to start with. Just start reading first. However, since you have asked for recs, I think you should start from easy fiction work such as Harry Potter or some self help books or newspapers even.
