Find your level. If you're at level A1, read books at level A1. When you find that you can understand most of the material you're reading start reading level A2. Keep challenging yourself and progress. Don't jump up levels too fast because you'll get frustrated. Keep it gradual.

I really loving your channel and I took some notes with phrases you highlighted on this video for practice my skills and for my English study: 1: Graded readers first: graded readers are books that are adapted for language learners! 2: Easier to read and understand! 3: Reading books for kids! 4: Sometimes they are too simple! 5: It's not too difficult! 6: Reading actual literature in a foreign language! 7: Choose the book that is right for you! 8: The right level for me! 9: Audiobooks! 10: Listen and Read! 11: The same prices! 12: Intesive reading and extensive reading! 13: Use both of these methods! 14: Young adults! 15: Honest! 16: I mean nothing bad by this! 17: Throbbing! 18: Easier to read! Thanks for this video, and thanks for your help!

Hi, Veronika. I hope you're having a wonderful day. As a lifelong, Cuban 🇨🇺 English learner who has been watching your videos for a couple of years now, I just wanted to take some time to thank you fondly for all the dedication and passion you put into creating high-quality content for your audience. I always turn to your inspiring, authentic advice for motivation, whenever I feel like I'm not enough. Also, having grown up in Cuba, with little to no contact with native speakers, despite being only 90 miles away from the U.S, your language learning journey resonates deeply with me, as you say you've never lived in an English-speaking country before. I'm currently working my way towards C1 and it sometimes it can feel like an endless journey, but I choose to believe that I'm on the right track, tackling every obstacle with a positive mindset, like you always teach us to do, and knowing that with consistency and perseverance, everything will start to fall into place sooner or later. Don't know if you'll ever read this, but the mere fact of saying these words is very reassuring. Keep up the good work. This world needs more people like you 🙏.

Вероника, полностью согласен с Вами, чтение очень помогает в изучении языка, особенно вслух, нужно не стесняться и читать вслух, одновременно со чтением тренировать говорение. И да, мои книги тоже имеют огромное количество подчеркиваний (неизвестных слов) в начале и почти полное отсутствие их, в конце, это видимый прогресс очень мотивирует.

To update the vocabulary, it is necessary: first, working out the text in duplicates; second, working out the word in segments, for example, singing them and, for example, the letters of the alphabet; third, combining oral and written speech, correctly pronounced - correctly written.

in brief: The video provides insights and tips on how to effectively read books in a foreign language, specifically English. 1. **Children's Books**: The speaker discusses the benefits of starting with children's books when learning a new language. They are simpler and often come with pictures, making them easier to understand. The speaker mentions reading Spanish children's books as an example. 2. **Reading Familiar Books**: It's beneficial to read a book in English that you've already read in your native language. The speaker uses "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" as an example, mentioning that she read it in Russian, English, and Spanish. 3. **Reading Literature**: The speaker touches on the challenge of reading literature in a foreign language. She emphasizes the importance of choosing a book that matches your current language level. 4. **Audiobooks**: The speaker recommends listening to audiobooks while reading the text simultaneously. This method helps in understanding pronunciation and keeps the reader engaged. 5. **Language Learning Platforms**: The speaker talks about her experience learning Spanish on LifeXP, a platform where you can find teachers based on shared interests. She also mentions a discount code for the platform. 6. **Intensive vs. Extensive Reading**: - **Intensive Reading**: This involves pausing to look up every new word or unfamiliar grammar structure. - **Extensive Reading**: This is reading for enjoyment without stopping to translate every unfamiliar word. 7. **Book Recommendations**: The speaker recommends several books for English learners: - "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green - "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" - "13 Reasons Why" - "It's Kind of a Funny Story" - "Lock and Key" She also suggests using Goodreads to find book reviews and Amazon's "Look Inside" feature to preview books. 8. **Conclusion**: The speaker emphasizes that it's okay to have moments of low motivation. She encourages viewers to practice both intensive and extensive reading based on their mood and motivation levels. She concludes by promoting her discount code for LifeXP and asking viewers to like and subscribe. This video serves as a guide for those looking to enhance their language skills through reading, offering practical advice and book recommendations.

Any advice on how to maintain or remember other languages that you know. I grew using the Khmer (Cambodian) language. However, I use English more than Khmer because I live in the United States. I use English at work and pretty much everywhere! At the same time, I am learning Spanish to connect with Spanish speakers that is around me and to have more job opportunities in the future. Therefore, I am using English and second, Spanish more than I use my native tongue. I still use Khmer by listening to podcasts, talking to friends at times but not every day, and at times reading the Cambodian script. But English and Spanish has to be my concentration right now, but I do not want to lose my native tongue because that is how I connect with my heritage and family! I guess what I am asking, how do you maintain all three languages? Thanks for the future advice!
