An example of swapping pod & pollen parents & still use the same name is Catt. Copper Queen. I have 2 types of this hybrid which have different coloured petals.

I live in Brisbane Australia & have a lot of Aussie species orchids, as well as hybrids from around the world! I also have a lot of species from other countries & they acclimatise very well, such is their will to survive. The only orchids I’ve lost have been hot growing hybrids or tiny seedlings (not long out of flask I suspect).

Thanks for watching. We love the Aussie Dens, but a few don't like us. We grow speciosum fine here, but Dendrobium kingianum has always been a tough nut to crack for us. It never seems to thrive. Anyways, we hope you are enjoying the excellent diversity yall have in orchid species over there. Seedlings can be tough, and we've thrown more plants in the bin than we'd like to admit. It comes with the hobby and learning what we can grow.

Oh wow, thank you, I am only 3 yrs in on taking care of orchids and this was so helpful. I have been flower gardening forever and those type name tags have nothing on understanding orchid species, hybrids and crosses on orchids tags, thanks again.
