loves this Vid brother. Especially the time you took to explain where the ideal spot is and when. Actually showing the viewer makes a huge difference. It is sooooo NB that we keep on education ourselves regarding the water and surroundings as it has a direct impact on our results. Keep them coming brother en STYWE LYNE CHOMMA!! blessings from the Helderberg in Strand!

Nice one Xander. I like how you lined your fingers up with the spots in the ocean you're talking about at the time. Most guys talk about structure and white water in their videos without specifically pointing it out. That helped me a lot, thanks!

Xander. What a way to keep a person captivated. You figured out how to make the videos great. When it comes to quality of the footage and the editing of the music and the scenery as well as the knowledge you put out there for us as beginner fishermen. I have been fishing for probably 10 years but my father was not really into fishing. He introduced me into fishing with a hand line. Showed me how to tie the hook and put an alikreukel on the hook. Caught a blaas op vissie. However so I only fished probably once or twice a year for the past 10 years. I was hooked from that first puffer fish but couldn't get out there as much. Now in the last 2 years. I am married and have my own life and able to spend more time for fishing. But I have no one to learn from. I always ask the fellow fisherman next to me wherever I go and so far I caught a few fish. I am able to cast better than the average fisherman. So I appreciate your videos because I learn from it. Thanks Xander. And as a guy who is hooked on fishing. I just think about fishing. So besides learning about fishing. I just love watching videos about fishing and yours are great.

@hendrikvandermerwe39703 жыл бұрын
Jis. To catch shad is the same as kabeljou. Use two hooks. One with piltcher and one with white mussel. Dont use funny dips and thing use fresh bait.

Great video. Here is a question . The beginner rock angler loses a lot of kit, sinkers, hooks and swivels. Could you maybe do a video on how to reduce the losses of kit ; firstly for the beginner who is still discovering the sport, but secondly, the ecological impact the "debris" left kn the ocean could cause with the byproduct- ensnared wild life, plastic polution and even tidal wash injuries to fishermen and beach goers. Thank you. I live in Switzerland now but your videos bring me many great memories of my summer holidays fishing in the eastern cape.

Hi there great video as always, if you dont mind, can you please do a video on how to fish with circle hooks. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. I recently started using circles and I get the good bites but the hookup rate isn't as good as I would like. Only about 40% of the fish actually get hooked. Thanks once again .
@zoolookfishing4 жыл бұрын
I will see what i can do! Do use a snell knot and do you present the bait correct?
@acidreiin74684 жыл бұрын
@@zoolookfishing Thanks much appreciated! I do use a Snell Knot and I do present the bait well. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, the 20/0 circle hook works well for Rays and Shark, it's just that I dont know what I'm doing wrong for these small fish such as black tail and bronze bream etc. The hook I use is the right size, it's just the hookup rate isn't as good as with a J but I've noticed using a circle when reef fishing works well

Thanks vir die effort great video soos altyd.

Hi Xander. I'm staying in Cape Town untill the end of May and i want to fish as many species as I can before I leave. I got my permit yesterday and I also tried some places in the west of false bay but didn't seem easy to fish due to the wind and waves. I don't know if it's always that way but I'd like to know from you any nice places to target the most iconic species. Spinning and light rockfishing are my ways so any place with accesible coastline and predator species like Kob, Grunter, Grouper, Yellowtail and similar would be great. Always Catch and Release. Aitor

Thanks for the very educational video Xander. Just one question, do you guys never get stuck on the rocks or do you edit it out😅. 90 percent of the time when I'm at the rocks I get stuck or the fish go in between the rocks and I lose my line.
