Walmart+ has been really useful! The same-day to 2 day shipping has come in clutch! Also prices are usually better than Amazon and you don't have to sift through all the random Chinese sellers! I probably like $5/mo in savings/convenience, so $60 a year.

Walmart+ is fantastic, i would cancel amazon if I was paying for it. Prices are a lot better and I think the service is just as good. Amazon is so diluted with junk nowadays

Honestly I'm debating between getting the Amex BBP or Platinum next... I do value spending multipliers above everything, but I've been thinking a lot about what you say, that people like me get screwed over the most in the game.

Im gonna make a video about multipliers vs SUBs. I think multipliers are way to heavily weighted compared to just getting SUBs. Platinum is fire for the SUB too

If you travel often the Amex Platinum is worth it for the 5x travel categories otherwise 1x everything else is crap. It has an excellent sub yes, also has some useful credits if you plan to actually use those services and not just spend more unintended money. BBP is a powerful 2x catch all card to grab earnings at places that don’t code grocery on other Amex cards. BBP is also an excellent holding spot for MR points if you cancel cards with a AF!

For travel yes ha, 1x everything else you look like a fool getting ripped off on your spending ha. Amex Gold looks nicer when eating out and gets you 4x on restaurants!

Idk, the AMEX customer service rep tried to sell me to upgrade my Gold to Platinum. She listed all the benefits & I had a comeback as to why I still didn’t want to upgrade. Now I see they raised Gold’s Annual Fee to $380, now it’s $80 closer to the high Platinum AF.

@@jakemercure yes, it a Personal Rose Gold. Evidently i spend a lot, but that’s only because i use my Amex for the majority of my purchases for the points. The $695 is not worth it to me in 2024. Now in 2022 maybe because of all my travel, but I use my AK Airlines card & I love that airline.

Its hard to justify but I think its worth it, for the benefits. As long as amex keeps their good service and doesnt dilute the card with horrible coupons, its a keeper!

CLEAR not worth it?. I agree. But I still signed up for it... twice. First time I signed up I got a $100 United Travel Bank. Set it to not renew automatically. The next time I signed up I got a $75 Uber voucher. Set it to not renew automatically. Even though CLEAR is not worth it. I still don't value it at $0.

You can use multiple payments for a purchase. So during the half of the year, he can use the $50 gift card + Amex Plat $50 = $100 towards 1 order.

I think the value is there for people who travel. In Jake's case for example, holding the card has a +$300 value but there's also the Hilton, Marriott, Hertz status, Clear credit is valued at zero but can save some time on busy days. So, for people who travel breaking even on a card with so many travel related benefits is a win.
