Great job👍, they look natural. I've been buying a pack or two every week for my kooper's Tie plant that ill be modeling, they manufacture the ties for the RR. Unfortunately I'm going to need somewhere around three to four thousand of these, plus more for the gondolas. I did note, you Staind the full length and then cut them, which is fine. But it leaves the ends White/ clear. Cutting them before you stain would be best. Just an FYI.

And I forgot to mention these are true scale to Ho scale.

Great work Engineer Hall! I keep telling myself I need to get some of those Hunter Line stains and a chopper. Thanks for sharing your work. Tim

Thanks Tim ,They will look great on your layout. If you decide to use those sticks from Walmart one stick turns into 2 ties And you have to cut a little off on the 2nd cut. When we get our quarterly or 10% use the coupon code Engineer Hall at Yankeedabbler .

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed yer video. Now I've got to go to Wally World and get some of those wooden sticks. They kinda look like match sticks. I usually save all our used kitchen matches and cut them up with my Chop It machine. They're about HO scale tie size. Thanks for the weathering tips. Merry Christmas.

New subscriber, well done! I like how you mixed an assortment of colors, went for uneven stacks vs neat bundles and showed staging options on the layout. We will definitely try this.

Here's a good one a while back some one made drywall load for an n scale 3 axle truck. I think they used blocks of wood and painted the block and to look like drywall units. Is that right?? Good work.

Hey Engineer Hall You just got another Subscriber! The ties came out Great! now I will have to make me some ties for my gons. Love the load thats about 2 ties high that have broken pieces of ties on the top layer. what do you think about making a homemade concoction of India Ink and Alcohol? I wonder if you couldnt try to tint the India Ink wash with Grey, brown, tan and white acrylic paint to get a variance?
@engineerhall58874 жыл бұрын
Anything's possible. Just have to find the right combination to get it were you like it it through trial-and-error. With the mix you are able to mix them up to come up with a different color but I haven't tried that yet
@captainbill124 жыл бұрын
I would love to see what happens if you use brown, then when that dries dip it into the creosote black color.
@engineerhall58874 жыл бұрын
That would be a interesting color
@mustanger0412 жыл бұрын
where can i pick up those colors

Great video on the ties. One question about the gon. You used india ink and isopropyl alcohol for weathering, what amount of ink to alcohol did you use? Thanks.
@engineerhall58874 жыл бұрын
I use 2 teaspoon of ink and about 16 oz. Of alcohol . That the base start . Add moor ink if you want it to be darker effect when it dries.
@BoxcarJerry4 жыл бұрын
