great video! I love these videos. Not only these derailleur videos show how to do maintenance on these parts, but they also show another thing: how bullet-proof they used to build things years ago, compared to nowadays The older parts were also designed with much more ease of maintenance in mind. good job!

that spring is no joke, the previous owner of mine had already cross threaded the pin. Now I think I've gotten it close to true, but I ain't taking it back out again to check! Thanks for the video!

Regarding the spring - the one that extends the parallelogram - I , too, had difficulty reassembling it and not cross threading the retaining pin. After two attempts, I noticed there was a small hole drilled into the bore of the upper mounting bolt area of the derailleur. I tried locating the short end of the spring into that hole, and it fitted perfectly, allowing correct alignment of the spring and retaining bolt, with no cross threading. I don't know for sure that the spring's tail is intended to fit into that hole, but it works well that way.

Hi. I have a nuovo record derailleur that got stuck in one gear. I followed you through the steps to take it apart, used degreaser to clean all parts. However, the parallellogram still isn't moving. Does anyone have experience with this problem? Is there a trick to unlock it again?

Wow never seen than happen. First make sure the limit screws are out enough and I would take out the parallelogram spring it could have gotten stuck on it and as a last resort you can use some oil on the pivots and force it loose good luck
