Early and late Muncie Synchro Rings explained. Its confusing to know what hubs and synchro rings work together.

Fantastic! Good to know there are others with the hotrod, guitar player, drummer, American Graffiti chromosome. Have always enjoyed Jeff's gigs, and hotrod interviews. This was a real treat. Thank you for taking the time to film your trip. Your wisdom is awesome Paul. Great stuff!

Jeff Beck likes the same vettes i like. Never stopped improving at his unique brilliant virtuoso guitar music. RIP Jeff the best yardbird guitarist.

OMG! That was Jeff Beck the guitarist? I have allways loved his music and used to have several of his albums. What an excuse to go to Britain just to deliver a few trany parts. I used to meet a few celebs when I lived in Hollywood but only on a one time basis. He seems to love his old American rods. And two 63 split window vets. Cool man.

Back when I was in high school in the late 90s I was taking drafting classes and the teacher used to be an engineer for GM. Jim Banks was his name. He helped to develop the Muncie 4 speeds. For his efforts GM built him a 67 impala I believe he said it was. With a 427 BBC between the fenders. He was there when the first 454 fired up on the dyno. He said they ran it till it grenaded. The harmonic balancer flew off and wedged into the wall of the dyno cell! Man he had some really freakin cool stories to tell!

The first glimpse of who's shop it was I was thinking, man that looks like Jeff Beck. Five minutes or so later you flash on screen it's Jeff Beck's hot rod shop. Too cool. I would have hand delivered the parts too. Not finished the video yet so maybe the end will have a little guitar playing live from this delivery 😉

Love all the videos, I ran into a 3 speed overdrive transmission out of a 80;s Chevy Van. It has the NV logo on the side so I think it is a A833. It appears to have been apart due to the sealant around the side cover. Are these built like a Muncie? It has a Hurst shifter with a really long shifter handle. Any thing I should look for? Weak areas? Thanks so much.
@GearBoxVideo8 жыл бұрын
These are NP440 OD units based on the A833 Mopar design, A good unit, but in no means a performance transmission.

A big problem.... stuff is old school now.
@green323turbo7 жыл бұрын
Its used everywhere.
@GearBoxVideo7 жыл бұрын
green323turbo agreed, but used in this video incorrectly. Aneurobic sealers are a much better alternative. I haven't used RTV silicone in 10 years. Neither does any transmission manufacturer. It should never be used in place of gaskets especially when gaskets are integral in maintaining clearances.
@green323turbo7 жыл бұрын
Yes too much is bad. Better just a dab on your finger and smear a thin layer. But its still very useful for many transmission and engine jobs. .
