Thanks for a great video. Well presented with excellent step by step description. You have given me the confidence to do the same with my 2002 F60. Thanks again for a brilliant job. Hello from Australia

Great video and thank you for posting. I have a 2003 Yamaha F60 that runs great however I thought it could idle smoother in which it does after vacuum syncing the intake butterflies. All four were out of sync by a lot and now she idles even better. Again, thanks for posting and stay awesome. 🙏

Nice video! Thanks! I have same engine on a 550 Alson Rib, run at 6100rpm, 27Knots / 31Mph like your! My engine have a small problem when cold start: they run at 4th - 5th attempt. when hot start at first time! I will clean carburettors, after summer season! Greetings from Italy!

do you happen to know if the f50 and the f60 share the same cam too besides having different carburetors? perhaps a longer time the intake valves remain open for more air? ...i will buy a boat with an f50 and want to tune it to an f60... its a 62Y engine..

Nice video! Thanks.. I am about to do the same thing on a Yamaha T50 so very similar process. What solution did you use in your ultra sonic cleaner? I have a smaller model but they will still fit so I would think its worth a try. I was also curious if you found a solid set of gaskets and o-rings or you just bit the bullet on the Yamaha ones.
@NorthwoodsNoise Жыл бұрын
I actually just use dawn dish soap in the ultrasonic cleaner. It seems to work just fine on moderate deposits and definitely doesnt harm the brass or aluminum. I ended up being able to reuse the gaskets that were in there with the exception of the few o-rings I replaced from a generic set of metric o-rings from harborfreight. I will probably eventually replace all gaskets with the yamaha set, but I've had the boat our several times since this video and it's running great so I think it's okay for now.

Awesome video!!! Thanks!!! Any torque specs? Or just hand tight
@NorthwoodsNoise Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I believe yamaha does spec the carb to intake bolts, but I just went with my best judgment here. On several of the bolts you'd need an array of extensions/swivel joints to get a torque wrench on them, which in my opinion invalidates the reading of the torque wrench anyway.

What would the average cost be to have a shop rebuild the carburetors on the same engine?
@NorthwoodsNoise8 ай бұрын
The carburetor kits from yamaha are about $100 each last I looked, so minimum $400 in parts without the shop upcharge, plus I'd estimate 3 hours in labor at anywhere between $60-$120 an hour. So $500-$800 would be my best guess depending on who you take it to and what part of the country you live in.

Don't you have to measure the float level?
@NorthwoodsNoise8 ай бұрын
I typically dont unless I'm experiencing a problem that would lead me to think the float height is incorrect. Once it's set from the factory it should be set unless someone messes with it. But if you want to be super thorough you could definitely measure and set it while you have the carburetors apart.
@rowland84outdoors117 ай бұрын
So, taking the floats out and putting them back doesn't affect the level? it should remain the same? And I appreciate the help!

Unfortunately Ethanol free fuel will be too expensive in the near future, even for those who have a lot of money.

The motor is not firing right, I know that motor really well since is one of my engines and I work as outboard mechanic, that idle is rough. Have a look on spark plugs leads to check if are connected right. Remove spark plugs to check if all cylinders are firing right. 30 mph is very low on that set IMO. Next time change vaccum pipes on the oposite direction and you'll have a more stable readings on the carb tune. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJOQl59uZrZpjdE kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIGVaImilp2gqK8

I watched both videos that you attached. Your engine sounds healthy. I have done same job with same tuner on 90hp, very similar engine. What do you mean attach pipes in different direction? Just turn them around? To satbilize reading?
