I can't tell you how much these 600rr videos have helped me, not only in learning how to do all this stuff by myself but saving myself hundreds upon hundreds of dollars having a mechanic do it. These videos are one reason why I buy all my oem parts from Partzilla. Just my way of saying thank you I guess. Again, I really appreciate you guys! 👍👍👍

Many thanx - I'm rebuilding the master cyclinder on a 99' CBR900RR and although the parts are a little different, overall they are similar enough to what you showed us here, that I was able to disassemble it successfully - I couldn't work out how it came apart until I watched this and found out there's that circlip hiding under the rubber boot! Much appreciated!!

My piston is stuck inside and wouldn't come out. What do I need to do to pull the piston out?

Mine is stuck as well and will not come out after I removed the circlip. I have tried everything to get it unstuck. I pumped it full of WD-40, Brake cleaner, and even tried boiling it in water for a little bit. It will not budge!

Whats going on if its all put back together (with a fresh/empty reservoir) and bled again but the pressure’s not rebuilding?
@midhunthomas23144 жыл бұрын
Amazing video guide. Performed it without removing the master brake assy or the brake lines, from the bike. Just get the right height seat to sit beside the bike and the task is a breeze. Once the internals are reassembled the brake pressure takes a while to build up. But once it is up after bleeding, it is spot on 👌👌👌👌👌

I have a drz 400 sm, after I bleed the front brakes they feel really stiff, after a week of riding they are not as still as before, always gotta push on the lever a little more to get the same effect as right after bleeding them. I rebuilt my brake caliper (new seals, fluid, all clean before reinstalling) like 6 months ago, and I had this issue ever since that and before too, could this mean that I should rebuild my front master cylinder?

If the caliper is good, couldn't hurt to look into the master cylinder.

So on my zx6rr the brakes used to feel great then after a year of not riding it I try front brakes and it goes to the grip. Would that be a sign that the master cylinder needs a rebuild?
@PartzillaParts7 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. If it's been sitting for awhile, it could have just got air in the system. I would flush and bleed it, make sure all the lines are tight. If it continues to be an issue, then rebuild the master cylinder.

I have an Honda CBR 600RR 2006 but mine have the Brembo Master Cylinder. I'm trying to replicate your steps to change the MC kit but I can't remover the brake lever. Another question is I'd ordered the 45530MCJ751 part number, will that fit my bike?
@PartzillaParts5 жыл бұрын
That kit should fit the 06. Why can't you remove it? It's a nut and bolt.
@randygarcia45655 жыл бұрын
@@PartzillaParts I'd removed the bolt that is close to the instrument cluster, but there's an adjustment bolt that refuse to let go the handle. That bolt is the one that goes thru the handle and into the Master Cylinder like a slave bolt. For some reason, that bolt does not let go the handle so I can repair the pump. Could this be the case because my Master Cylinder is Brembo and not the Honda or Nissin brand?

I'm having the same issue with my bike but I have done the master cylinder rebuild replaced 2 of the 3 hose's as well as had the mechanic replace some parts in the right side caliper. sometimes they lock up after 1 min of riding or 45 min later. if I crack the break hose at the top (master cylinder) all pressure is released. any advice? i have a 03 kawi vn 750 6.000 mi
@PartzillaParts7 жыл бұрын
Make sure your fluid is not overfilled. Random thought, have you inspected your lever? Does it fully disengage? I've seen damaged brake levers, aftermarket or improperly adjusted levers leave constant pressure on the line and the brakes overheat in no time causing them to expand without your permission. It's something you might want to check.
@ryanheater98527 жыл бұрын
Partzilla thank u. I'm new to mechanics and motorcycles in general lol I don't think I had it over filled but I'll triple check to make sure. as far as the break lever goes I'll definitely look into it.

Hey John! I recently rebuilt my hydro clutch master cylinder for my 2007 cbr1000rr. I haven’t been able to gain any pressure unfortunately.... what do you suggest I do to regain pressure?
@PartzillaParts4 жыл бұрын
hello Lucky Collins my guess would be that you still have some air in the system somewhere. try tapping on the lines and cylinder while trying to bleed. sometimes it can be a pain to get it all out. another thing you can try is pulling the lever in and letting it slam open several times. that can send vibrations trough the lines and help remove the air. or you could find a vacuum pump to help bleed the air. something like this... www.partzilla.com/product/aftermarket/2Y5E-JIMS-738?q_ref=L2Jsb2cvcXVpY2stbWFpbnRlbmFuY2UtYmxlZWRpbmctbW90b3JjeWNsZS1icmFrZXM

I was hoping to see the feed hose be removed - on the lever side there's a rubber bung, underneath of which is a circlip that retains the nipple assembly & I was wondering if the nipple could be rotated to accept the hose from a different angle.
