Plus saved $5000.00 for a used axle labor parts etc. There are put there still REAL MECHANICS AND ENGINEERS not mechanics and engineers wannabees declaring themselves when there are part replacement mechanics.

@ExileXCross you speak without knowing what your speaking of. If you pay attention and realized this housing wasn't repaired before. The existing band is how the housing is made being the housing has multiple layers the cut a the fish mouth plates in the housing to remove the fracture and different size and shape repair plates to weld in. Like drilling a hole to stop a crack before repairing. This made the housing as strong if not stronger then before the repair

I don't understand what your issue with the comments are. The comments all pretty much are supportive of these men saying "doing the best they can with what they got". I think everyone else had the same thought as me when they first saw the video. This is what they have to do to get the vehicle up and running whether or not it lasts for the next 20k miles is another story. I don't beleive welding an axle back together will last very long because of the amount of stress and flex an axle is put through on a daily basis. Here in America it wouldn't be the best option or even an insurable option but in a 3rd world country this is the best these men got and they did an outstanding job.

@carllennen3520

You should be honest, and admit you have no clue wtf youre talking about. They stick welded cast iron. You cant do that. Cast iron has to be welded a specific way, and this aint it. Those welds will not hold, the moment they encounter any stress. For there to be any amount of structural integrity of those welds, they have to be forge welded together, and allowed to cool very slowly. Stick welding it, the cast iron will never get hot enough, to actually melt the seems together, and allowing these welds to cool fast like they did, causes the weld to cool faster then the cast iron, making this useless. These idiots just wastes a full day of work, and the moment this truck starts doing any work, this housing will re-split, potentially killing someone. This literally will not hold longer than 30 seconds under load.
