I think everyone else had the same thought as me when they first saw the video. This is what they have to do to get the vehicle up and running whether or not it lasts for the next 20k miles is another story. I don't beleive welding an axle back together will last very long because of the amount of stress and flex an axle is put through on a daily basis. Here in America it wouldn't be the best option or even an insurable option but in a 3rd world country this is the best these men got and they did an outstanding job.

@carllennen35205 ай бұрын
You should be honest, and admit you have no clue wtf youre talking about. They stick welded cast iron. You cant do that. Cast iron has to be welded a specific way, and this aint it. Those welds will not hold, the moment they encounter any stress. For there to be any amount of structural integrity of those welds, they have to be forge welded together, and allowed to cool very slowly. Stick welding it, the cast iron will never get hot enough, to actually melt the seems together, and allowing these welds to cool fast like they did, causes the weld to cool faster then the cast iron, making this useless. These idiots just wastes a full day of work, and the moment this truck starts doing any work, this housing will re-split, potentially killing someone. This literally will not hold longer than 30 seconds under load.

Wrong. I'm America we understand safety. It's a cast part, you can't weld cast back together like that. It will break again, and it could very well cost a person or persons, their lives. This has nothing to with money. After all, how much is your life worth? $500? $1,000? $2,000? How about $5,000?

@@cliff4695 In addition, they are simply welding the surface together. There's no way they are getting the weld to penetrate into the center so the welds themselves aren't as strong as they should be. If they beveled the edges allowing the weld to fill the whole joint, that, at least, would have been something.
