That’s awesome! Hope you’ll like the upcoming content as well.🏍 what condition is your bike in?

Nice job! I am using anti-seize also. No need for thread lock on the calipers. Mine were painted a hideous red color. So I've been stripping paint. lol

Thanks a lot! I guess the previous owner wanted something “very sporty” 🤣🤣

Great video! What kind of grease do you use on the rubber seals?
@volimoto6 ай бұрын
Hi! It’s grease I got with the rebuild kit, but I’m fairly sure it’s “red rubber grease” (It’s a brand also) and is meant to prevent drying out for natural and syntetic rubbers. Some don’t recommend actually greasing the sealing rings on the piston, lt of people instead use brake fluid there, but using a very small amount of this rubber grease makes more sense to me. Hope this helps!

I rebuilt my triumph 4 pot front calipers but know they leak because the inner caliper halves are flexing and opening when you press the brakes, giving a spongey lever and weeping brake fluid? Did yours do the same ?
@volimotoАй бұрын
Do you mean that oil is seeping from between the 2 halves? Have you reused the bolts that hold them together? Did you torque them to spec? What about the O-ring in between? Did you use a quality replacement? I haven’t tested these yet to be honest, but have never had an issue before.

@@volimoto Hi, yes I cleaned everything nicely , fit new OEM triumph seals , no torque settings available so I went with similar suzuki settings 25nm , the problem is the inside calper half is flexing alot when I pull brake lever, the result being a very firm but spongey lever, and the slightest bit of fluid weeps out as the 2 caliper halves are essentially opening up.

Where do you get the resevoir hoses? I got a new resevoir on eBay and it sweats brake fluid, like it is eating through
@volimoto6 ай бұрын
Hi! They probably included the wrong material of hose. Try looking for EPDM hose. Depending on where you’re located maybe you can find it in your local auto store, or just order some online. It’s fairly cheap.

@@volimoto thanks! That’s the kind with the metal threads lining the inside right? Looks like black rubber hose, fuel line hose?
@volimoto6 ай бұрын
I think it’s just “rope” and not metal inside, but could be also that there are versions with metal mesh. Don’t use normal fuel hose. Generally what’s fuel and oil resistant is not brake fluid resistant and you might end up with the “sweating” action on them. Look for specific brake fluid resistant hose, which EPDM is. You can just google “epdm brake hose” and I’m sure there’ll be some available near you. I hope this helps!
