Rav Pinson explains how the roots of our souls, the four elements of this world, and more, are all things that determine whether or not we experience some form of "Ruach Hakodesh" (divine presence)

Everyone in my family has all those traits , except me……I have felt totally out of place in this family…..always felt going thru this family was a journey NOT a destination……everyone in my family is almost dead. I know I have a Jewish soul since conception……CANT WAIT TO MOVE OUT PERMANENTLY ON MY OWN TO BE ABLE TO CONVERT. NO ONE IN MY FAMILY IS CHANGING AND I AM ALMOST 37 rapidly moving to 40 in a few short years my mother is almost 71 and tons of bad character traits my brothers too. Alcoholism being huge. PRESSING INTO HASHEM DEEPLY AS MY ONLY COMFORT AND FOR MIRACLES TO SICK TO JUST MOVE OUT. WITHOUT SERIOUS DIVINE INTERVENTION. CANT SUPPORT MYSELF TO SICK.

Sounds great, but the majority of Yeshivas put a high focus on Talmud, Scholarship, and ritual. So the Jewish nation is very sharp and intelligent, but not very spiritual or mindful. There are no, unfortunately, Jewish schools of "prophecy". That's why so many of our people can be found doing Yoga, and meditation. One third of all western Buddhists are Jews. It's time for orthodoxy to own up to it's failures.

lets be the change brother! In defense of Chabad & a few other Chassidic yeshivas, at least there is a strong emphasis on mystical study, farbrnegens/personal development, and prayer with contemplation. But we have a ways to go!
