did you use a wall plug for your nails because your walls are masonry/cement render as opposed to plasterboard? i noticed that you just directly nailed in for the chord though.

The number on the drill is torque, not speed. Aka twisting force. It’ll cut out if it exceeds it. For example, preventing you from over tightening screws. Hammer mode should be used for drilling through brick

The switch on the top that’s 1 or 2, is the speed. I wasn’t talking about the numbers around the chuck. They do not come into play when drilling. You do not need to touch them. Drilling already uses the highest torque setting. It’s only when screwing that the torque settings come into play. Also hammer mode isn’t always required, but most lintels are made of metal these days and you shouldn’t use hammer mode on metal.
