Hello, I just saw your channel and it's really interesting. I am a Nigerian, I live in Dubai, I have a Romanian fiancee and we've been in a long distance relationship since 2014. She had visited me twice in Nigeria and comes to Dubai to visit me as often as possible. Hello how are you ? Ahm you may help me with my problem. My husband (Romanian) and I (filipina) got married in Philippines. We are both living in UK with our son.. we wanted to get our son a passport but we've been told to get him passport we need to register his birth first and to register his birth we need to register our marriage first so we are all in this process at the moment.. now we gathered all the docs but we've been told again that we were missing one which is the statement of surname used after marriage... You can have the marriage recognized after entering Romania, but it can take upto 60 days only for the recognition. I would advice having a consultation to be sure that you will not have any issues with the procedure.

Hello, indeed Romania is not part of Schengen. If your wife is west European so EU citizen from Schengen it might be possible for you to travel as her companion but not guaranteed, we had clients in the past who were rejected at the border of certain countries.

It depends on where you want to get married and live after that. It would be fastest to apply for tourist visa and get married here in Romania if you want to live here after that, instead of getting married abroad and going through the long recognition process.

Buna ziua, sunt casatorita cu un cetatean din Nigeria din ianuarie anul trecut. Casatoria a avut loc in Nigeria, iar din cauza pandemiei nu am reusit inregistrarea casatoriei in Romania. Hello, if we get married in Canada, is is possible for the Canadian citizen to enter Romania on a tourist visa (and not apply for a family reunification visa to enter the country?). And then apply for marriage registration in Romania? Then, once the marriage is registered, is it possible to just apply for a temporary long stay permit under family reunification purposes? Update: I have read on your site that it is possible to enter the country as a spouse and apply for the temp long term visa later, but other places say that if you enter on a tourist visa you cannot extend your stay? Hello, we do not really understand the question, so you mean to say your marriage was recognized in Romania? If you are not living in Romania then you cannot get a residency permit. The first step is to get a visa or, depending on your situation, you might be able to travel without a Visa to Romania and join your spouse. Hello, we would start by saying that marrying just for residency is highly illegal, in Romania but also in any other country around the world. Secondly, if you indeed have a real relationship with a RO citizen, you get 1 year TR after marriage.
