Few suggestions: 1. Make recording button accessible easily, currently it is placed far too left, it can integrated in the centre of the call window. 2. Give an option to remove the timer before stating to record a call, so the process could be faster. 3. Allow action button to quickly start recording the call. Or give option to start call recording automatically.

I live in Virginia which is a one-party state for call recording. So, as someone previously said … there’s times I don’t want the other parties to know I’m recording the call. In a one-party state … I just need to consent. Hence one-party state.

There’s more harm in Apple not including the announcement than it is to include the announcement. Why would Apple adjust call recording announcements per each of the states laws? Sounds ridiculous to ask and difficult to maintain the feature given how easy cross country traveling is in the USA.

@@elsamena7976 Because apple does these adjustments all the time for specific regions. You cannot take a picture without making a sound using iphones in Japan. Even if you buy your iPhone in the US. They could allow the setting to be visible only when the user are in regions where this is allowed. Kind of dumb to think they can't do it

Yeah, seems really great to alert everyone about the call being recorded. That won’t make the call awkward at all or make people think about what they say more. I personally just want to record things for proof, like when I cancel an appointment. If I want to alert someone, I will do so myself, thank you very much. Not that people in europe can use this anyway.

In certain regions this is required by law. It depends on where you live. Some places allow one party consent, some places only allow for two party consent.

Cool, if it weren't for that stupid notification of the start and end of the recording. But how behind Apple is in implementing basic necessary features, be it pausing for video recording, recording phone conversations. Hopefully someday we'll get a system clipboard manager, information on how long before the alarm goes off, etc. etc. etc.

If people arr notified that the call is beeing recorded they are not gonna say or do things you could use as evidence. Plus, it should also work with video calls in case the misconduct occurs on facetime.

They have to notify each person to protect themselves from being sued since many states have laws which require you to be notified .

"What should you do if you do not want to be recorded?" That's what the audible heads-up is for. If someone starts recording your call and you don't want to be recorded, you can say so and simply hang up.

Let users turn off the "This call is recording' alert in specific countries where call recording without noticing is legal. For example, in South Korea, Sam.sung had call recording for yeeeears without alert, and also you can auto-record all callings. Wouldn't be hard since Apple forcing Camera shutter sound in South Korea and Japan since they launched. 😒

In settings, go to Apple Intelligence & Siri. Then click on join Waitlist. If it doesn’t give you the option to join the waitlist, make sure the language is set to English (US). Then it should work. Don’t worry, the waitlist doesn’t take long. For me it was like 20 minutes. That’s what worked for me and I’m on an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I’m in Canada. Hope this helps!!

I'm using a Samsung S22 Ultra in Uganda, working in Customer Care. I often communicate with clients using my personal phone. While I rarely need to revisit recorded calls (maybe 2 out of 10 times), I love the convenience of the inbuilt auto-record feature-it’s always on, so I don’t have to think about it every time. I came here to explore how the iPhone handles this as I consider switching, but unfortunately, this feature seems impractical for my needs. Legal hurdles? Samsung has managed to include it without such issues. Then there’s the 100-call log limit-another dealbreaker. So, for now, it looks like I'll have to stick with Samsung, as the iPhone still lacks some basic functionality I rely on.
