The hdmi port on your pc is to take signal out to your tv. That’s why the hdmi adapter didn’t work to your laptop or pc. It’s awesome though to your tv from your camera! Thanks for your video! I was good and informative! I have the same model camera.

Plug in your camcorder to HDMI port on your computer is not working because your HDMI port on your computer is output only. Only use for display source from your computer to HDMI screen or to HDMI input port.

Way too late for the answer to be useful, but it records for 90 minutes on a full battery. Maybe a bit more on a lower quality setting.

If you use the wall plug you can keep the camcorder charging whilst recording. You can use the hdmi cable to view your camcorder recording on a tv or keep it connected to a tv whilst recording as a big af viewscreen

Just opened mine. Hasn't been used since 2015...it's now 2021...still works great. Had to watch a couple youtube videos to see what I was doing wrong as at first it seemed to be dead too. Keep trying.

5:03 Instead of it saying what I see on your screen, for me it says “Do n it disconnect the USB cable. Do nothing turn off the power. Do not close the monitor”. What do I do??? I got lost on that part...I really need to import the videos I have on my camera to my pc. The grab did my pc is an ASUS laptop. I don’t know where the thing is on 5:12 is. I need help :(

Yes you can. The mini-hdmi to HDMI cable that comes with it needs to plug into an HDMI capture card or USB adapter, depending if you have a desktop. Then any software will see and treat it like a webcam so it can be used with Zoom or OBS or any number of other pieces of software.

I am new to Sony Cam corder or any cam corder, for that matter. I have figured out quite a bit however, I can't figure out how to review footage. Before I upload it to anyone or any thing is there away to review it on lcd screen. I'm ready to return this thing!

I got the video into my PC put could not find it, were it was in my Photos in the video editor and I can not copy and paste them in my videos. But the good news I got my video up on YT and it looks and sounds great. I wish this camera had a touch screen, I hate the buttons, but I can live with the camera.

Dude. That cord don't work on your computer because HDMI on a computer is output ONLY. To make this work on your computer, you need an HDMI TO USB adapter.
