I grew up in a little bitty town, I grew up hungry. I will never forget meeting the store manager at the local grocery store I worked at. This man and his family took me in basically, and the first time I ate with them is an experience I will never forget. One of my favorite foods he made was pinto beans with pork neckbone and cornbread. I would also use the cornbread to soak up the juices from the collard greens and it was just amazing. This was a long time ago but I wish that I could go back for one more dinner with them.
