What’s the difference between recording audio using Garageband vs Audacity-is the audio in Garageband synthesized and not the exact original sound of the keyboard, whereas Audacity records the sound of the actual keyboard? I’m a bit unfamiliar with this, so thanks for your help!
@vinc882 ай бұрын
Yes you are right, in garageband you use midi to record your piano. So you record the information that you get through your piano. Once you have the midi information you can choose your own sound like Steinway piano, digital piano, guitar, or flute etc. If you record through an aux cable with audacity than you record the original programmed sound of your digital piano. Thanks for watching :)

Hi! Great video! I have a question though, do you need headphones in order to hear what you'e playing? Or does it automatically come out of the pianos speakers regardless of the USB? Thank you!
@vinc88 Жыл бұрын
The sound from garageband you choose comes from the laptop , so you listen to the speakers of the laptop or use headphones while playing If you turn piano speakers on you hear the original roland sound. But not the chosen midi sound But for me the midi piano sound and Roland piano sound is all piano so i often listen to the speakers of the piano. But sometimes i use headphones

I am sure there are better sounds out there than what FP-30X has available, that’s why I am looking into this. Lastly, will the audio be output from the monitors connected to the computer or do the monitors have to be connected to the FP-30X directly?

Yes. You need an Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. Buy the Apple at $39, not the knock off brands for much less. You will also need a USB A to B cable to connect the Adapter to your piano. The cable is the same, or similar, to the one commonly used to connect your printer; prices range from $5 to $1,000. I would recommend something under $25. Check your specs to determine whether you need a 2.0 or 3.0 cable. I have a 9th generation iPad which requires a 2.0 cable. Cable lengths vary; buy the shortest length available that easily connects the two devices.

Yes the recorded midi data will run the original tempo. You could adjust it but you don’t have to. you can also use a 3.5mm audio cable. How to record audio on the Roland FP-30 in a few easy steps kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp2phY2ohdqnZtU

I have a p125a, i followed the steps as you menioned. However the garage band doesnt record anything. What must be going wrong?
@vinc8810 ай бұрын
That is very strange, maybe the cable or converter is broken, or maybe your settings in Garageband. Also Make sure to allow GarageBand to use the microphone. I hope you find a solution, Thanks for watching

brother can you help. i dont get such clarity and depth in steinway grand piano. what did you do exactly to get the sound?
@vinc88 Жыл бұрын
That’s really strange, I actually used the default steinway on garageband. I haven’t tweaked the sound. But maybe it sounds a bit different because I used an older version of GarageBand. Thanks a lot for watching :)

Can't you record MIDI and WAV to a USB key on a FP30? Direct PC connection is one way, but not necessarily the easiest one.
