Great job Becca! That really answered the questions I had as I'm about to begin recording books for clients! Exciting stuff!

I used your video about how to format my book with InDesign, and it was spot on. Very clear and helped me to complete the formatting of my book with zero issues. Now I'm ready to do my audiobook, and while I was searching for a video online, I had to pause. I thought, "If Becca C. Smith has made a video about recording an audiobook, I am going to be thrilled." You did! And I am! Thank you for such excellent instruction and for sharing.

Thanks Becca! This is by far the best tutorial on this topic I have seen so far. You explain really good and in a way that's easy to follow. Apart from that you are effective and avoid the kind of, let's call it mansplaining, with to much bla-bla. You get to the point and I will use this right away. Thanks :)

Great video, and the perfect level of detail to be informative, but digestible. Good practical advice to get the techy stuff sorted and record and publish audio. Job done!

AHHHH BECCA! Thank you so much for this! This tutorial is SO helpful and especially the tips along the way. (Like trying to aim for 1-2 seconds before/after chapters even if they say that you can do more. Definitely sticking with lucky number two bahaha.) Also your hoodie/onesie!? Amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Can't wait to revisit this soon and try it myself!

If you are only recording one track in the multi-track, why don't you make the file as a single audio file instead of a multitrack?

Thanks for a great video. How long would it typically take you to record an entire book?
@BeccaCSmith2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! And for me, with a book around 80k words, it takes about 20 days. I try to record around 15-20 pages a day. That’s usually an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening, sometimes more, but that’s about the average for me 🥰

RECORD LEVEL BETWEEN -12 AND -18? ACX site says -18 and -23... -12 would fail ACX wouldn't it?
@elliottspence8 ай бұрын
-23dB and -18dB is in reference to the RMS. Not the vocal recording range.
