I dont have a lot of experience with ProTools so maybe im reading this wrong. But isn't it best have your recording channel completely dry, and then send ur dry rec channel to an AUX track with your vocal chain? I use that method in FL, coz I dont like to have my vocal fx to be baked into the recorded vocals so i can change the settings after tracking. Is there a way to do that in PT? Ofc its all up to personal preference and efficiency, so i dont judge ppl who record w FX baked in

@@SKYJORDXN Ahhkay, thanks for the quick reply bro :) Guess I need to get more familiar with the PT signal flow. I just assumed that any insert on the record channel will be baked in, as they are in FL (I track vocals in FL by setting my mic input to a dry "ghost" channel that's muted, then sending that channel's signal to my vocal chain channel) After some googling, PT users are saying that even with inserts on ur REC channel, the FX aren't actually printed and stay dry regardless. I had no idea! I went to TAFE (Aussie tech school) for a little while for audio production and learning PT, but tbh my teachers were a bit out of touch with modern recording techniques :(. You're a much better teacher at this stuff than them bro fr. Great vids

It seems you are using a seperate track to record on and then moving them down to audio dup 1 etc....why? easier workflow? I cant find no game on this online but I see everybody doing it....maybe thats why wavy waynes templates seem complicated to some ppl? I know u know put us up on game...I was recording directly on the dup track

Yeah it’s easier and faster to record & that’s how a lot of Industry artists record that I’ve recorded have their templates set up. but you can record however it’s not a correct or wrong way when tracking the vocals

IK im late but.. You can use a headphone splitter as it is much cheaper. But its best to get an interface with two headphone outs, cause sometimes using a splitter cannot properly amplify both Hphones as the single headphone out on the interface is designed to be able to drive one Headphone. I'd recommend a SSL2+ or a UAD volt 476P
