Elisha Record Studio What do you think about GarageBand compared to Cubase, if you have tried it or know anything about it?
@ElishaRecords5 жыл бұрын
1stack1 I absolutely love Garage Band, and still use it on many projects. I think if you dive into it you can get very good results.
@ElishaRecords5 жыл бұрын
1stack1 Compared to Cubase of course I must say I know Cubase better, but frankly, any DAW, including Garage Band can get you amazing quality if you know how to work with them.

Thank you for your kind guidance. I'm just starting recording my sax play. Please allow me to ask a very beginner's question. Please let me know how to combine your sax play with minus one play along music from CDs. Can you do it on Cubase?
@ElishaRecords4 жыл бұрын
jazztown Your question is how do you record yourself playing alongside a record or music cd?
@jazztown57844 жыл бұрын
@@ElishaRecordsYes, I play sax with play along minus one cd but CD sound comes through headphone, recording only sax sound through microphone.
@elishamedia4 жыл бұрын
jazztown if you can have a copy of that cd and convert it to a wav aiff or mp3 file and import it to Cubase you can definitely record yourself, or you can just record yourself along and put the 2 things together, but that’s harder to do

Hi, I record my alto sax on audacity with a akg mic. It always sound muffled or a bit far away like I'm playing in the bathroom. How do I get a better sound?I havnt downloaded any plugins or anything. You can see the sound on one of my saxophone videos in my channel
@ElishaRecords3 жыл бұрын
I loved your cover of Believer. It sounds clean enough, but yes, a little bit far away. It could be anything from room treatment to your audio interface or gain staging. But also could be just a matter of mixing. Maybe some further EQ cleaning, compression, and some analog distortion could give it more to life. Let me know if there's anything else I can do. You rock!

Thanks for the information:) Maybe someone can help me out: I was suggested to get a DI Box for recording my sax and I like the sound it gives (don’t hear as much breath, just notes); however, my low notes are extremely quiet. Anything I can do to help it have an even tone? I’m used to controlling my breathing for for tone but no matter how ‘loud’ I’m playing, it’s still recorded very softly. I was looking in my DAW to see if I can change frequencies or something but having no luck. Any suggestions?
@ElishaRecords4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks a lot for watching the video. I truly appreciate it. As with regards to your recordings I must suggest to play with the mic position. If you’re using a condenser mic you need to check what’s the frequency response of that specific mic and what the DI is doing to the sound. Use the proximity effect on your mic for getting more information on the low end, meaning the closer you get to the mic the more bass you’re going to get. Again, there are many moving pieces there, but try and check. Make sure there’s no filtering going on. Maybe along the chain before recording you are getting a cut on the low end. Hope this works. And let me know if you have more questions.

@ElishaRecords2 жыл бұрын

Realmente no necesitas 2 microfonos, Pero tengo curiosidad, tienes tratamiento acustico?

I notice that the soundwaves on your project look quite "small" so to say...I normally record "hotter" , is there a "better" way to record, I mean as a rule; of course different projects may require different rec techniques... Thank you
@ElishaRecords5 ай бұрын
The rule I follow is normally recording at 50% to 65% of the fader. Unless is 32bit float on my NT1 which doesn’t matter cause I can adjust later.
