Really enjoyed this video. I could totally see this project in textiles! Loved your mention of patchwork could also lead into quilting and applique and reverse applique techniques. 😊👍

Cheers, yeah it would be great for textiles, you could replace all sections with fabric and the lines could be a variety of stitching. Thanks for watching 😊🙌

I'm a geographer and I approve this message. If your audience is interested in maps in general, get ahold of a copy of "How to Lie with Maps." ESRI used to carry this title. And may I recommend printing out interesting references and pasting them in your sketchbook using cheap glue sticks, like the Elmer's disappearing purple sticks.

A year later (when I happened to fall on this video), you've inspired me for a Summer Book we've decided to create for my creative writing group. I want to fill it with worlds, not just with words. Many many thanks. Your ideas keep trip mapping my mind, Maestro. 🌈💓

Lovely, as usually (I watched three videos in a row, yes 😂). Just one question: where you following real maps as models while drawing your experiments? Or the lines you draw comes completelly from your imagination?
@TomQuigleyArt3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Raquel. The geometric lines come from the grid paper and other grid/lined paper. The organic lines come from the stains the coffee has left. There are certain elements which are from imagination. Ideally you would use maps in the background and draw over those, connecting them together. I hope this answers your question 👍🏻

@@TomQuigleyArt Yes, thanks! I wasn't sure if you were copying the lines from a sample map that you had out of camera. Thank you. This video was very inspiring.
